I don't believe the Giants should be "sellers" at the trade deadline.

However, I would shop Xavier McKinney and Adoree Jackson.

There's a really strong chance that neither player will be on next year's roster.

Joe Schoen has done a nice job finding quality defensive backs.

Whether it be Deonte Banks, Jason Pinnock, or Cor'Dale Flott.

This seasons about over, these guys aren't here next year, and we may need to trade up for a QB

If they aren't part if the solution, get what you can if anything for Adoree, Leonard Williams, McKinney, Barkley, etc

This season can't get much worse, get the capital, they won't be here next year think bigger picture. More chances to evaluate the rookies, depth, and those without expiring contracts and/or a better chance to resign

Just because 2023 plans backfired does not mean they can fix this mess

When you are a Seller it means you need to be a Replacer.  It's ine thing to sell when the replacement is already on your team and another to sell then to have to go find a replacement — with a strong possibility your replacement plays subpar to your replaced player.  I like greater certainty than that.

Assuming we lose to Buffalo, I think they should absolutely be sellers of any position they don't have long term plans for. Adoree Jackson, Waller, Barkley, Leo etc all come to mind. McKinney too if they're down on him and don't plan on signing him. Letting guys like this just walk away for nothing early in a rebuild if they can get something for them makes zero sense to me.

The goal at this point is clearly not to contend in 2024. We are a very bad team right now, even with everyone healthy. So the point about needing to worry right away immediately about who will replace them in 2024 does not really resonate with me. We are back to this being a 2-3 year fix again, at minimum.

Moreover, 2023 is clearly over (barring a true miracle). So there is no point whatsoever in clinging to the 2023 season and trying to "keep up appearances" by aiming to finish something like 6-11 instead of 3-14. Not only is that silly and pointless, but it's counter-productive from a draft position standpoint. Players they're not going to re-sign should absolutely be put on the block. Even if there isn't much to get in return. Give me something over nothing any day of the week.

I know many fans don't like to confront or admit this reality, but we are now at a point where losses this year likely help the team over the medium term more than wins. It's a damn shame that that is where we are, but that is indeed where we are.

I would trade all but Bredeson

If they get a 7th round pick 100 years from now for Campbell, it would be a massive win.

Sometimes, we like to think about what we could get for a player.  I like to look at it the other way and list what I would give for the player (I am assuming I am a playoff team).

These look about right to me. I think Barkley should have no problem getting a 5th if he comes either this week or next week and logs in a couple of good games where he looks healthy. Even with the RB devaluation he is still a playmaker who could be very additive to a contending team.

If a Qb gets injured Jones should be on the block as well. I'd be fine with tyrod and devito finishing out the season.

A name I keep hearing a lot in regards to if the Giants were to trade Jones where would be the logical spot? Atlanta, they have a phenomenal 2 headed running game, 2 TEs, plus Drake London, Mack Collins, and Van Jefferson. Arthur Smith doesn't need an elite signal caller just someone to manage the game and he did wonders for Tannehill which got him the ATL job. That's Jones' comp really, Tannehill with legs. Just think it could be a good spot especially with Riddler not really dazzling.

Why only a 4th for McKinney?  Came off a good and is young.  No contract issue either.  He's worth more and they could get it.

Here was my thinking-  McKinney is a free agent at the end of the season, so this is more a rental than trading for an asset.   McKinney hasn't looked special since 2021 when he played well under Patrick Graham.  If I give up a pick for the rental, how can I be sure he will learn my system quickly enough and then play at a level that makes a higher pick worth it?

As for whether the Giants should sell, I believe they will be in a position to sell come the trade deadline unless something completely turns the team around.  Should they be in a position to sell they need to collect as many draft picks as possible just in case they need to trade up a few spots to get that QB next spring.

Too early to sell...playoffs or not, let's see the starters play more than 1 series together...

Then make decisions.

IMHO, we trade for draft picks and we absolutely suck at finding great players at any spot....scouting or top level decision makers fail.... We lose...

I think everybody should be available for the right price minus Andrew Thomas, JMS, Hyatt, Hawkins and Banks. Those are basically the only building blocks I see.
