Title: Questions for Beat Writers
Post by: Trench on October 08, 2023, 05:10:41 PM
If you could ask the Beat writers a question to pose what would it be?

1. Did any of you ask what is going on with Hyatt?...we were told if you make plays you see the field. He made some plays in previous games but I didn't even remember seeing his jersey today.

2. Why did we wait so long to remove Ezudu

1.  Why is there a lack of effort on the oline.  It's like these guys are not even trying block.  Even the center looks like a turnstile.

2.  Why is it when DJ got hurt we finally started calling seam routes for Waller - where was this all season?

3. Why didn't you call timeout when the defense looks lost presnap before Hill caught that long TD.  Secondly, why was McKinney on no man's land in that play.

4. Why hasn't Bobby Johnson been given the pink slip yet.  2 first round picks, 1 second, 4 3rd round picks and still looks like trash.  One offseason with Neal and to rookie class last year and they look significantly worse than last year.  It's not talent anymore at this point it's coaching or lack there of.

Hyatt played (0 targets)...as a decoy...so we could run Wan'Dale back and forth behind the line of scrimmage as another decoy (5 catches for a whole 18 yards)...

Truly sad...

On your second point they have called seam routes to Waller all season.  Difference is Taylor was looking to go to him not defaulting to his underneath route.

I would ask the writers why Jones hasn't adjusted to this?...it's a fair question as people have been open but he doesn't see it or won't do it

At this point like Carr, DJ's internal is off.  Even on moments where he gets protection, he rushes the throw - case in point that miss on Wandale that should have been a first down and more.

On another note - makes you wonder running a "soft" did not help this team one bit.

If these excuses about his internal clock have any merit, then he needs to go elsewhere or retire. He should not be getting paid like he is if he is mentally incapable anymore of playing the position at an NFL level.

Bro, as great as Brady was when they went 18-1, admit it or not but our pass rush rattled him.

The oline has been so bad on epic proportions its on a whole new level of bad.  Like giving up 30 more sacks than the Texans when defenses were teeing off David Carr bad.  It's either they are dogging it or something is flat out wrong in that locker room.  Our oline arguably is more talented than last year but has been piss poor and way worse than last year.

At this rate, we're looking at Tommy DeVito is going to be on the injury report sometime this year kind of bad.

For those that are thinking plugging in a new QB is going to make a world of difference, you are flat out delusional.

I'm not saying Jones is the guy, but thinking throwing in a younger guy behind this line will just kill his psyche more than anything.

You are right. But really is there a difference between Taylor and Jones?

Indecision is the culprit. What could we expect? Neal is a disaster, Ezeudu and him can't pick up stunts. Then we added two guys directly from the Practice squad to fill in during the game!! They are totally confused and disoriented.
What a disaster.
