Title: Giants who are in the running for a PB birth
Post by: MightyGiants on December 06, 2023, 03:33:38 PM

@JordanRaanan
Giants in Top 10 of voting at their respective positions for Pro Bowl:

ILB Bobby Okereke (5th)
OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (5th)
P Jamie Gillian (3rd)

Dexter Lawrence not being in the Top 10 at defensive tackle is crazy. Saquon Barkley at RB also a surprise.

Looks like injuries hurt Andrew Thomas and Dex.

I won't be surprised if Dex makes another All Pro team, even with the Pro Bowl snub.

I'm surprised Dex isn't in the mix, but I'm not surprised that Barkley isn't. Why should he be? His total yards and yards per carry are pedestrian at best, and he has one rushing touchdown on the year.

Mostert #2 RB is ridiculous. He isn't even the Phins starting RB. Do better people.

Why is FB still a PB position when most teams don't even carry one? Blocking TEs should be combined with FBs as a blocking specialist position.

Mostert entered the season as RB1 for Miami with Achane as RB3.  Achane had some really good games but even before Achane got injured, I thought Mostert was still RB1 but splitting carries with Achane.  I may be wrong somewhere.

Being on the Giants hurt Dex, he'll get in when the player and coach votes are factored in.

The Pro Bowl teams can be full of silly inclusions and omissions (see Engram a couple years ago), but I think the all-pro teams are legitimately meaningful and highly prestigious.

If I'm a HOF voter, I'm looking at all-pro appearances, not pro bowl.

More proof to my belief that Giants are treated like a small market team compared to the other sports in town. No one cares about the Giants outside of the NYC media. We are only on the national shows when we matter in the standings. It's a national crisis if the Cowboys/Steelers/Packers fall to 2-8 on ESPN and Fox Sports.
