Not sure why people are still surprised that Ojulari is invisible.  Guy is not any good despite what many want to believe.

Really hope this game puts to rest any talk about DeVito being better than Jones.

Shame that someone will have to win this game.

If the Commanders drafted Banks, they would still be 0-2 against the Giants this year.

I am not going to read the entire thread.  It is painfully amazing how far the bar has dropped.  Taylor was slightly better than terrible the past 2 weeks.

Not really sure I can call yesterday a "WIN".  You can say they scored more points.  But, in reality they both lost.  Just that the Giants lost a little less than Washington.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Giants Football Card Collection
October 04, 2023, 10:45:47 PM
I was VERY into card collecting as a kid, but exclusively baseball cards.  Bday is in February and when I was 13, 14 it was just in time for the new releases and I would get a few wax boxes as my present.  Got completely turned off around 91-92ish.  Walked into Dave's Cards in Bellmore during February break from school.  They were selling the new Brien Taylor rookie card for $25.  I asked the guy if that was serious and he pointed at the Beckett guide and said to look it up.  Think it was listed as $30.  THE MAN HAD NEVER THROWN A PITCH IN PRO BALL!  I just shook my head and said, "I'm done with this shhhiiistuff."

Since I have bought some random stuff here and there.  Had a box on 79 Topps and have worked on completing the set off and on.  A LOT more off than on.  Did pick up a box of 500 Giants cards from late 80s early 90s.  But nothing crazy.  I still pay attention to it a little. The jersey cards and other inserts have continued to turn me off and as Giant Obsession said, the explosion of companies printing stuff turned me off.  Now these 1/1 things or the cards that come in different border colors just doesnt interest me.  The grading of cards, I understand why, just seems like an unnecessary expense for most people.

Quote from: True Blue on July 19, 2023, 10:32:25 AMI can understand the issues that come with that, but not to be insensitive to it, it is unfortunately a non football mistake by Barkley, it isn't and wasn't up to the Giants to remedy that.

I would hope that isn't why he wanted more money.
exactly what I was thinking.  I am not giving my cleaning lady or babysitter a raise if they go to Atlantic City and lose all their money in the slot machines.

RIP, haven't been on in a while so just saw this today.  Never met him but he always seemed like a very nice man.

Late to the party on this, I have never skated on any artificial ice surface.  There are a few skating/hockey training facilities in the area that have them, although not sure if it is Glice or another brand.  What I have heard from those who have skated is it is a bit more friction that natural ice and it dulls your blades real fast.  Again, not sure on Glice per se, but I am told if you skate on artificial for an hour, you will need a sharpening.  Was speaking to a kid who was on a skating treadmill with artificial.  He bought a pair of used skates for $20 that he uses only for the treadmill.

Lenn: Sorry to hear about that, but there is no way to prove that he contracted the disease as a result of not wearing a mask.

It is also possible he engaged in other risky behavior (more risky than wearing a mask) which may have caused his death (in whole or in part).

I don't put much weight in isolated (anecdotal) examples cited to prove a much broader point.  They just aren't convincing, no matter which "side" posts them.

Bob
Prove? Of course not, but it is safe to say if he DID wear the mask the chances of him getting sick would have been much less.  Could have still got sick? Of course, but when you are as vocal and as condescending on social media as this guy was, it is hard for people to feel any sympathy.  Young guy, feel bad for his family and just hope he didn't have any young kids.

Yesterday was fine until 2 certain people started saying people weren't real fans or they were phony because they disagrees on the benefit of winning yesterday vs the benefit of the better draft pick.
