Quote from: ozzie on March 15, 2024, 08:50:58 AMYeah, seems to good to be true....

I think that every day. But until someone tells me that I'm not supposed to use it I'm enjoying the hell out of it.  I have been using it for several months now.

Quote from: Ed Vette on March 14, 2024, 08:03:19 PMI haven't had to inspect a car in many years. The Vette doesn't require inspections anymore as it's now a classic. I lease my vehicles. Prior to that, Paramus was always an easy station. As for other DMV needs, I stay away from Lodi. But with the Mobile units that come to town and renewing online now, it's much easier.

DMV employees are notoriously nasty. Must be nice having a job for life with a pension and benefits locked in and no accountability.

Ed. Even though you lease don't you still have to get a yearly inspection?

Quote from: Ed Vette on March 15, 2024, 07:53:24 AMI'm wondering how Apple and Netflix would allow this. Does it have all the channels that YouTube TV has like the NFL Channel? Seems to me it's an illegal Box but how could it be out there for so long.

I really can't give you a reason how it works. I did read that the laws regarding streaming is somewhat of a gray area. One thing about this box is you can't download or record any of the live shows. You can't pause or rewind the shows. So live is live. The video on demand allows you to pause or rewind etc but no recording is allowed. If I come across a movie that is already playing on an hbo starz station and I want to watch it I will go to the video on demand and 95% of the time it will be there. I don't worry about whether or not I'm violating any streaming rules. I don't normally question the legality of products I purchase on Amazon.

I'm going to say I can get anything you can get on YouTube TV. NFL channel. Espn. ESPN2. SNY. NESN. MSG.

I am pretty sure that local broadcast stations or free to anyone who can get the local stations so now I watch Giants games on a local NY station.

Quote from: LennG on March 14, 2024, 08:21:01 PMWhat is Superbox?

The superbox4 is a box that connects to an hdmi port on my TV and gives me around 1200 live TV stations and a video on demand feature for movies and TV shows. I bought it on Amazon for around 300 bucks but now you can get a superbox4 for 222 on Amazon. The drop in price is because now there is a superbox5 but the 4 does all I need.

This is a one time purchase. No monthly fees or any other fees.

I bought it because Kingm26 (Matt) told me about it when people were asking how to get Giants game if they aren't broadcasting in my area. I thought I would pay 300 if I could get the Giants. This box allows me to do that. You can watch any NFL game live you want to see. Even the games that are broadcast on Amazon or peacock are available on the box.

You can also get several HBOs SHOWTIME Cinemax Starz etc.

I use the video on demand feature most of the time. I can get most of the current movies and TV series and almost any movies or series I want to watch I can find. Any show you get on Netflix or Apple I can get on the box.

This is not the perfect solution but is as close as possible. Once in awhile a station my be down for maintenance but if you ask me if I would recommend this box I would say ABSOLUTELY 100%  I LOVE IT.

I still have Hulu and Netflix but only because Louise want to keep them because she is comfortable using them so we keep those services for her but if I was alone the superbox4 would be all I would use.

Quote from: LennG on March 14, 2024, 05:22:10 PMMost definitely something I would love to watch. Where is it on?

I believe it is on Apple TV. I have a Superbox so I  can get most shows that are streamed by anyone on the video on demand feature.

Wow. Up here in Maine almost every neighborhood garage and auto dealership inspects vehicles. I get my car inspected at the dealership where I bought it and my wife and daughter get their vehicles inspected at a small garage a few miles from the house.  You do have to make an appointment.   12.00 to inspect one if everything passes.

Every NFL player is lucky. Every player that signs an NFL contract hits the lottery.  You could give me any NFL contract and I am sure I'd be a very happy guy.

I've done the ancestry thing and have traced my family back to the 1500s. One of my 3rd cousins is/was Wyatt Earp. His mother was Virginia Ann Cooksey. My grandmother was a Cooksey with a pretty straight shot back to Virginia Ann. A couple of others. One was the guy who bought the Speedwell that was the ship that sailed with the Mayflower but had to turn back a d one guy was the last governor of the Plymouth Colony.

If you enjoy WWII stuff try "Masters of the Air"  It is the story of the guys who flew B-17s over Europe. It's a 10 part series like BoB. I've watched the first five episodes and decided to wait until all the rest drop before finishing it. I have a hard time to not watch the 3 I haven't seen yet but I'll enjoy it more when I can binge them.

I had a cousin that flew the B-17 and was shot down in France and was assisted by a French family that kept him hidden until he could escape.

The biggest change as a result of the cell phone is now you call a person when before you called a location.

Not while dining. If I'm out for dining I do keep my phone on the table but I don't use it much. I use it a lot at home just checking various sites and use several apps that make my like much easier.

My story. Several years ago I was having back pain and at some point I started to limp. I didn't even realize that but it was true. I went to a spine doctor and he told me that I had spiral stenosis. A narrowing of the spiral column. I went in for surgery and I was told he cleaned the column to give my spinal cord a bit more room. I can't really tell you what he really did but I have a 10" scar that tells me that he opened me up pretty good. The surgery did help. I no longer limped but I still had discomfort in my back every day although not as bad.

Here is the amazing thing about my back. A few year ago after sitting on my butt for quite a few years as a retired gentleman I had gained a lot of weight and was looking for something to help me drop a few and I  came across a program called DDP Yoga. DDP stands for Diamond Dallas Page who was a wrestler who broke his back and developed this program to help him get back to the ring after being told that he wouldn't ever wrestle again. It was a program that looked like it  was a workout that might help. I probably watched the promotional video on YouTube several times and told my wife that it might just be a waste of 50 bucks but I wanted to give it a try. Long story short  after about 4 or 5 weeks of doing this DDPY I had dropped a few pounds but what was the most amazing thing was I noticed that my back was pain free. One of the things that DDP says during his workout is that stretching the spine holds back the hands of time. I'm not going to say that it would solve your problems Sqib, but I swear by this program. Here is the ad that I saw.

And just as a side note, my weight went from 295 to 217.

I was never a real big fan of the Abbott and Costello movies. Always seemed a bit too much slap stick. But the one exception for me is "The Time of Their Lives".  I'm a sucker for ghost movies. I've seen several versions of The Canterville Ghost and The Time of Their Lives is very similar.

Of all the dive sites I've been to on the Maine coast, Nubble light was my favorite.
