TT made a few mistakes but had the best passing day of the season. Lots of mistakes and penalties taking yards and potential points away.

I think its doubtful it would have happened, but if they won out, the 1 seed was possible.I was thinking the odds of winning in overtime due to a coin flip vs a two point conversion made his choice close enough to go for it. After the Dallas timeout which was brilliant btw, and showed their hand, he should have kicked the FG, as it took away their best play.
I think the analytics change in a game that is controlled more by the defenses.
Quote from: uconnjack8 on December 31, 2023, 09:36:28 AMThought that was a risky one from 4 or 5 yard line. It was early enough in the game that I didnt think it was awful at the time, but thought they should have kicked the FG.It was a close game and he should have definitely kicked the FG. I also think it was too risky to go for two and not tie the game but the analytics may have swayed him there.
They go on 4th a lot and it's worked for the most part. Its just very questionable when it potentially costs you a game.
Quote from: uconnjack8 on December 31, 2023, 08:04:01 AMI turned the game off after Goff's INT. Figures all this happened after that. You're right. He went for it on 4th down instead of kicking a FG.
What do you mean here? They kicked the PAT after their only other TD I think.
Quote from: Ed Vette on December 30, 2023, 10:11:07 AMImagine paying a QB with 11 wins over two seasons and 3000 yards passing season to date 161 million in guaranteed money. And giving up five draft picks and three players. Ouch
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on December 30, 2023, 09:05:53 AMImagine if through 15 games Daniel Jones had 26 TD passes, 8 picks, no injuries, and was 7th in the league in QB rating.Imagine paying a QB with 11 wins over two seasons and 3000 yards passing season to date 161 million in guaranteed money.
Then imagine the reactions here if anyone referred to that as a "failure."
Quote from: kartanoman on December 30, 2023, 03:21:15 AMI do believe this plays into the overall equation. Years ago, during the Parcells years, Carl Banks pointed out the unwritten rule about being injured and, if you couldn't go, there might be questions about your toughness. He was called into question when he dislocated his wrist in Dallas during the 1990 season. After a bye week, he made the decision to play in a cast at RFK Stadium against the Skins where he broke up several plays but ended up injuring himself even more. Many players took painkillers to deal with getting beat up every week which led to drug addictions or severe injuries which crippled or killed them (e.g. CTE). They ended up suing the NFL as medical professionals on teams would sometimes under-diagnose their conditions, during the season, then tell them after the season was over what they really had going on.North Dallas Forty
Carl Banks went on to say that the Giants (i.e. Ronnie Barnes' team) were not into shooting up players back in those days.
Peace!
