It's funny how fast love can turn to hate.

Just last offseason, most Giants fans were beyond excited about Waller. The viewed him as a major addition to the offense and the big play guy that the Giants had previous lacked.

Then he goes on to have a 2023 season that, quite frankly, was pretty similar to his 2022 and 2021 season.

Now everyone wants him to hit the bricks as fast as possible.

Funny how people talked themselves into believing that in 2023 they'd get the 2018/2019 version of Waller instead of the 2021/2022 version of Waller.

Reality is a bitch.

Great catch obviously, but OBJ got absolutely mugged on his.

Jones' contract is unmovable. They could not trade him if they wanted to.

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 06:41:32 AMWell, one is focusing on the offseason (featuring the Giants), and one is featuring training camp.   I think that there is enough meat on that bone that the split should work.

Fair enough. Although keep in mind that most teams now do their own version of Hard Knocks, so there is now a ton of this type of content out there whether your team is on the actual Hard Knocks or not.

I am glad the Giants are on Hard Knocks, especially in this new format. Should be interesting and entertaining.

I disagree that sacks "aren't that big of a deal." Sacks destroy drives.

Pressures surely matter but QBs can still complete passes or at least get throwaways and not lose yardage under pressure.

Huge, huge difference.

Zibanejad, who is well paid, is under contract with a no-trade clause (which you can bet your bottom dollar he won't wave) through the 2029-30 season. He won't be a UFA until he's 37.

Wild.

Had to really dig deep in the back of my memory on this one. And still needed help.

So there are two Hard Knocks shows now?

I felt like one was more than enough.

Quote from: Ed Vette on May 30, 2024, 05:50:42 AMChampionships are a team accomplishment.

Totally different eras. Rules changed materially. Can't compare stats as apples to apples from these two eras.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Giants waive RB Brightwell

Brightwell is a guy who was a bizarre pick at the time he was picked, and despite (I'm sure) no lack of effort on his part, he never managed to do much at the NFL level.

Letting him go was the right thing. I wish him the best.

Waller is a guy who has had a lot of highs in his life and a lot of lows. I hope he and his family land in a good place.

However I also hope our team lands in a good place, as it pertains to him. This saga around his retirement needs to play out.

Good news.

I'm looking forward to what will hopefully be a breakout season for him in year six.

The Rangers did what they needed to do, which was win one of two in Florida. Two out of two would have been amazing, but it would have been a luxury. They needed one, and they got one.

Now, they need to win game five at home.

Yes, they NEED to win this game. Lose tomorrow and the series is very probably over.

I don't think they will lose tomorrow though. I think they'll step up.
