Cinderella was 75 years old after a fulfilling life with the now passed-away Prince, happily sat upon her rocking chair, watching the world go by from her front porch, with a cat called Alan for companionship.

One sunny afternoon, out of nowhere, appeared the Fairy Godmother.

A good friend sent me this today and I found it just fascinating.

Here is a list of guys, most of who we have never heard of, who all won the Medal of Honor, many posthumously, who did what was expected of them and so much more. Not for fame or glory but because it was their duty.

These are the people who should be looked up to and their names should not be forgotten as soon as we finish the article. Anyway, I found it a great read, and be sure to read what each man did to deserve this honor.

On this list is Desmond Doss, the only conscientious objector to win the Medal Of Honor. If you have never seen the movie they made about him, 'Hacksaw Ridge', I would urge you to see it. A wonderful watch and I can guarantee you will never forget his name again.

Since I am a complete nerd at anything computer related, usually finding my way by trial and error, as I said in my post the other day, I usually get to Wordle by the link in the OP. Today that link did not work, so I went back and saw how to get there, and I succeeded. But I was trying to get this link somewhere where I can access it easily and I simply cannot see how to do this. I saved it to my favorites, but does that mean I have to open my favorites, find the link and go that way? There has to be an easier way.

As with Ric, I only play on my desktop.

Wordle 356 4/6

??🟨?🟨
?🟨??🟩
🟩????
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

I finally figured out how to do this.

I had all the letters with my 3 first-round picks and I sort of found it easy to move them around to form a word.

I think most people do Wordle on their phones instead of their home computer. As for me, I do absolutely nothing on my phone except make calls, take calls, and on occasion read/type a text message....oh yeah, and take pictures sometimes when a camera is not handy. Most people I know use their phone for just about everything that most do on their computer. As for me, I only use my PC in the living room. I need a full size keyboard to babble on as I do because I'm brevity challenged. I was getting the message you stated, but I simply changed my Wordle button on my "most used" list to the new link and it works just like the old link without the annoying message that it is changing to NY Times

Since I don't use my phone for Wordle, I am not familiar with the issues they are facing. I assume a lot of people use their phones to play the game as they can send a picture of their attempts that is filled with question marks, yellow spots and green spots. I can't do that on my PC and have to take a snapshot of my finished product then copy and paste a block of color over the letters - tedious, but works

We should start a club as the only people who can't live without their phones.

We are so alike in that I do exactly as you, use my phone for phone calls, an occasional text, and a rare pic or two. I am IT blind. We even swear by the same phone provider--Mint Mobile, as it is perfect for us limited users and for $15 a month, you just can't beat that.

Gosh, I wish I could meet you there. Ben's is our favorite Deli, only we go to the one on Long Island, (Carle Place). We are there at least once a month. I can't say they have the best pastrami in NY as I haven't gotten the chance to taste all the others, but, if not some of the best, they sure come close.
Seriously, next time you are entering our boundaries, please, give us a heads up and I know several of us would love to enjoy sharing a meal with you.

For anyone that likes, has liked or is looking to try some new variations, check this out

The grilled one kinda looks appealing, at least to me.

5 for me also. i had the last 4 letters and there were a few decent possibilities for the first. I guessed wrong a couple of times.

For what it is worth and I know I do this the hard way, but when I go on this Wordle, I always used the link provided by Ric in his initial post. It takes me to the page saying it is now the NY Times and gives the link for Wordle.

Is this what everyone has been talking about?

From here in NY, it would be impossible, but we are heading to Vermont on Sunday, for a week, around Killington, so maybe we could give it a shot. It would mean getting up at some ridiculous hour, and that might be the hardest part. THe image says June 23, how about next week?

Would you need a telescope to see this?

Bob - no comments from you!!!  :P

Come on Tim, go for it.

If not, I think I have a pix of you, and you know the rest.

A couple more. First one you can see the rain I was in as I kayaked with another couple down the Tioghnioga River. The second one with my girlfriend at a rock concert in Syracuse (pre-covid). The third, just my girlfriend and I in the kitchen. Yup, I'm bald...hence almost always wearing a hat

Lovely lady.    :ok: :ok: :ok: :ok:

( and the guy is cute also- in a nice way.      )

I've been thinking of changing my avatar, but wondering what my fellow posters think. Using an interesting site called "New Profile Pic", it takes any picture you have of a face and turns it into a profile picture or avatar. I've always kind of liked the one I use, but playing around I've come up with a few options and was hoping for some input...maybe I should have made this a poll. Anyway, here's four options that I came up with using the new website. As you can see, it distorts your face (usually in a positive way making you appear younger and better looking than you really are - at least in my case...LOL) and there are several options that can be used for creative coloring, backgrounds, wave effects, etc. So with no further adieu, what do you guys think?

Should I just stick with my old one or update my avatar for the new software coming? If anyone wants to try this method for an avatar, go to: https://newprofilepic.com/ I don't know why it says, "come back a week later for new effects..." because when I've used it there are plenty of effects immediately. Maybe they mean they are adding new effects all the time. Anyway, it seems to work pretty good for avatars on message boards

I never go to pick a pix, so, like the others, I think #1 is the best.
