Looks good Lenn - I like the third one the best...although, the first one really captures your smile and happy demeanor.
BTW, thank you for your service friend. I wasn't aware you were a vet  :ok:

I liked the 3rd one also. Really makes me look 30 years younger.

As I have said, I use HOIST as my first word. Probably not the best choice as most words won't start with an H, but it has worked for me so why change?

Today, with my first 3 words, I only had 2 letters, one green and one yellow. I was scared seeing my streak ending right here and now. So, I looked for my 4th word to have as many of the letters I haven't used and tried them in a word and low and behold, I had all the letters correct except the first one. It was easy to find the right first letter, so 5 for me today and I'm happy with that.

Funny, but I've never seen "Jaws" nor have I read the book. For some reason, there's some blockbuster movies that I have never seen simply because the subject matter didn't pique my interest. Like "Rocky" and all the sequels - never seen a one of them and man do I get criticized by some people for admitting that...LOL

WHAT, never seen Jaws, the original summer blockbuster which started it all. You should see it just for the heck of it. Jaws were simply one of the best movies of all time, Jaws II was just OK and after that, I don't remember how many they made but they were all 'A' type movies that should have been 'B' movies and maybe even 'C' if there is a category for that.

Rocky, on the other hand, held up pretty well thru most of the sequels. Like Rocky 5 was every bit as good as some of the previous ones. The original Rocky was probably the start of all those 'feel good' movies where you just had to root for the underdog. Made Stallone a star. He wrote it and starred in it.

Good stuff on today's opinion of reading. Several things I've read about in the past that stick out to me

1 - there is nothing you can learn in college that you can't learn by reading a book from the library
2 - you want to expand your mind, your vocabulary, you sense of well-being: read a book
3 - no movie has ever been as good as the book from which it was taken
4 - if you want to bore someone to tears, tell them in detail about the book you are reading

One of my many faults, is coming home with a few new books and realizing I already read one and have one of them. Happens all the time. I'm getting senile I think

#3 is mostly true, but many years ago, I read Jaws by Peter Benchley and it doesn't even compare to the movie for sheer terror, excitement and so many other things. This time the movie was 1,000 X better.

I do not know whom you are speaking of, maybe it didn't play here in NY. I do remember Elvira and then Zacherly as hosts to late-night movies some of which might have even been considered 'C' movies if there was such a classification.
Lot's of fun though

I had all the letters with my 3 regular words (HA) and just rearranging them was a snap. Probably could have gotten it in 3, but for me, an easy 4.

Love the shot of Lincoln. Very powerful image.

Just standing in front of that statue is truly awe-inspiring. It is so lifelike, from his head, to even his hands.

I have been very lax on getting, my photos online and posting them.

Since I was talking about Washinton DC in my last group and said that DC is maybe the best city to photograph things, let me post a few more of my many pix of Washington DC.

And we ventured over the Potomac to Mount Vernon to visit George and Martha at their home

So we have finished Theodore Roosevelt on the History Channel and liked it very much.

Myself, I can't say much about the guy they got to play TR, as I thought with some better make up they could have had him look a bit more like TR and I didn't think he exhibited the real enthusiasm that I would think TR had about many things. He seemed ot be sleep walking thru many parts, but again overall, I liked it.

I guess it had to be Ruth, as the last Langmore, needed to be killed off. As a character, she was probably the most interesting of the group.

And Wendy=== sense of humor    :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

OK Tim, I took your advice. I had 4 letters in my first 2 tries, so I said OK let's take a shot. Wrong

I had the last 4 letters in green and it took me till guess 6 to get it right.

Back to MY old routine and I would ahve had it in 4.

I had sort of the same upbringing. I was a child of the 50s and 60s when things were really booming, but not so much in our house. Both my parents worked so I was always fixing my own food since I was about 14.
I had always loved a good Tuna fish sandwich, but I was always looking to zing it up a bit, instead of the same old tuna all the time. I was always adding things to it to sort of 'spice' it up a bit. I can say the same for my standard PBJ sandwiches. I was always trying new jellies, with adding different ingredients to it, like chocolate chips, different fruits, etc. I think that has carried over to the present day as I do most of the cooking in our house and I'm always looking to 'improve' a standard dish with some extra stuff, or spices.

Anyway, some things, from my youth have still carried over into adult life, especially sandwiches.
I've mentioned my favorites, but in addition, and this is only my own sandwich, a good fresh turkey salad with only Hellman's mayo. My own thing is to fry up some onion and add it along with some chopped egg and assorted spices and it has to be eaten on fresh bakery rye bread.
One of my other favs is a good sloppy joe sandwich on a fresh onion roll--messy but good.
