Lenn, those sunset (and I think one sunrise) pictures are incredible. Seeing them live would put chills down my spine

You know Ric it is all about timing. As I said, all those pics were from one cruise and each night we had crystal skies which gave us some of these shots. I just got off a cruise and didn't get one sunset. Most nights we had cloud cover and on the others, we were at dinner. AND, I can't lose any beauty sleep to get up for a sunrise.

Being out on the ocean with all you can see is the sea and the horizon, makes for wonderful pics--sometimes.

Glad you enjoyed them.

I wish I lived closer. You'd have a customer for sure!

Ditto this.

Tim, next time we come down, forget eating dinner, I'm coming to where ever you say for that polish. You are THE MAN.

I sure hope so. We are 3 episodes in now and I do find it interesting. It boggles my mind how much this star looks like Bobby from The Practice. Another older TV show about all these lawyers who only want to 'do the right thing'. We enjoyed that show very much.

OK, I fully know there are more things that aren't being shown yet and why this rich dude wants this over with ASAP, but it still makes no sense, and NO good lawyer would agree. Maybe I'll eat my words, later on, but if Haller is basing his new reprieve of career on this case, it would benefit him tremendously not to lose it, rather than backing off. I know it's TV and we just have to accept it as it is, as with so many other shows, but I still find it absurd.

As for the Black girl who they let off. I realize the circumstances of what happened, but it isn't up to the guy who it was stolen from, it is up to the DA and she still stole something and she needs some sort of punishment for that. SHE didn't know it was fake and she was committing grand larceny in her attempt. To just shrug your shoulders and make light of it, well maybe I'm getting too old but there needs to be some form of punishment for a crime as she admitted to the theft. They make this seem like a joke.

Guess this is why we play this game, to get that blob on our shoulders moving a bit.

What should have been an easy word, took me 6 today.

I started watching "Lincoln Lawyer" (the new Netflix series, not the moviewith Matthew McConaughey and Marisa Tomei....although any movie with Tomei is worth it...LOL) because I like legal thrillers. It's a Netflix produced series that just premiered a couple of days ago. I've watched 4 episodes so far and I like it. If you liked HBO's remake of Perry Mason, you might like this although set in today's time era unlike that Mason series

I've read all of Michael Connelly's books so I'm quite familiar with the character (plays Mickey Haller) and the type of dramas he gets into. So far, pretty accurate to the book's characterization of Haller

On YOUR recommendation, (and a lot of advertising on Netflix) we started watching this series. I am also a sucker for lawyer-based shows though I still never liked Perry Mason (perhaps the fact that he never could lose enters into that).

Anyway, after one episode, it looks promising BUT there are several things that sort of rub me the wrong way. Why the Black girl's case was completely dismissed. She DID steal the necklace even if it weren't as valuable as they thought. How can they just dismiss it?
And this high-profile case will probably be the heart of the entire series. This dude will be on trial for his life and all of a sudden his hand-picked lawyer is dead and this new guy has it. AND he tells him that come hell or high water he wants to go to trial in a week. REALLY. Who in their right mind would even want to do that. I understand his reasoning for wanting it over but come on, you will be on trial for murder and you want your NEW lawyer to be ready to go in a week. Just preposterous.
We will stay with it as the main character is likable enough.

I have found weekend words seem to be a bit tougher, not today. Had all the letters with my initial 3 words so getting it in 4 was easy.

2. Q: WHAT DO YOU DO WITH 365 USED CONDOMS?

A: Melt them down, make a tire, and call it a Goodyear

A 3-year-old boy examined his testicles while taking a bath.

"Mom", he asked, "Are these my brains?"

"Not yet," she replied.

I have noticed that in general most of the words are true 5 letter words.  In other words, they generally don't take 4 letter words and add an "s", "d", or "r" to the end of them to create the 5 letter word.  That is what challenged  me a bit with today's word

Gamer is a completely different word and meaning than game.

Took me 6 and about 10 minutes of trying different combos to get it. I know the word just couldn't put it together until the end.

Shane doesn't die.  He just rides off.

Sorry Jim, we don't know that. Many feel he is mortally wounded and rides away to die. There is a huge debate on this.  We know he has been shot, so why would he just leave unless he knows he is going to die and doesn't want the boy to see this happen.

Does Shane die at the end?
The film leaves that question unanswered, although viewers can be found to support either side of the argument. Those who conclude that Shane dies argue that the last scene in which he rides through a cemetery is an indication that he is dying or is already dead. They point out that he is slumping slightly with his arm to his side and that, in the novel, the gunshot was to his abdomen. They reason that he goes off to die as one last favor to the Starretts. Shane admires and likes Joe but is in love with Marian. He leaves so that they do not know for sure that he has died; he knows that the guilt Joe and Marian would feel at his death would poison their marriage. Those who conclude that Shane is not dying counter that the cemetery is simply on the way back to the mountains and that he is leaning forward because he is going uphill, as horseback riders tend to do. Although he was shot, they argue, it appears to be a superficial wound to his upper arm. The wound isn't bleeding profusely, Shane isn't acting like the wound is serious, he could mount and ride his horse, and he is holding up the reins. Others circumvent the argument entirely by pointing out that it matters little whether or not Shane dies from his wound. The movie itself is an allegory saying that the gunfighter, like the free range cattle rancher, are dying breeds. The West is being settled, civilized and developed. It's giving way to a new era where the rugged individual was being replaced by families... where peace would prevail and gunfighters no longer had a place.

And

Yes Shane does die at the end. First clue is when Shane says "A man is what he is, he can't break the mold". 2nd the boy says "Its bloody, Shane you're hurt". And finally Shane is died when his head is down and his left arm is hanging out and straight down as he rides up over the hill. He had to die, he was the last of the gunfighters and now he could be at peace.
