Had to watch the final episode of last year and then the new series premiere. While I had seen the final episode when it was originally broadcast, really, I hardly remembered any of it, so I thought it was pretty good, except for the flimsy way they took out  Beta. I really expected a big fight before he met his doom. Instead, it was short and sweet.

So on to the new 6 episode arc before next season, it's last. I enjoyed the new first episode, though, as usual, I do have a few bones to pick. I guess my biggest regret is the way they simply ignore all the other things going on in the show and never tell us what's going on with others. Like with Eugene and crew surrounded by Star Wars baddies, and the new season starts and they are nowhere to be seen. Same for Gabriel and crew. I have watched series where they deal with every aspect on every show. They could spend the most time on this new arc, but, at least show us what happened at the cliffhanger.

So now we deal with The Reapers. A friend who reads the comics said that they aren't even mentioned, so we are off on a completely new path. I was sent an article, supposing what MIGHT happen, which I am posting if anyone wants to suppose along with it. No one knows anything at this point, except the show will end next season with Daryl and Carol, for sure, surviving.

OK I thought of a few more

Vincent in Pulp Fiction
John Wayne's character (Sgt Something) in Sands of Iwo Jima (I think that was the movie)
Sean Connery's character (again I forget his name) in The Untouchables
And Old Yeller--Old Yeller

The most memorable movie character deaths

https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/the-most-memorable-movie-character-deaths/ss-BB1bNfFN?ocid=mailsignout

Can't argue with most on this list, just seems as if it could be 50 instead of 25.

Give me till tomorrow to ponder this and I'll come up with several who would be on this list.

While I'm typing I thought of a few right off the bat

Marley (Marley and Me)
The female boxer (Hillary Swank) in Million Dollar Baby (this one really pissed me off)
Sonny Corleone (Godfather)

Any others???

Irish blonde...

An attractive blonde from Cork, Ireland, arrived at the casino. She seemed a little intoxicated and bet twenty thousand dollars in a single roll of the dice.
She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." with that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and with an Irish brogue yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!"
As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and down
and squealed. "Yes! Yes! I won, I won!" She hugged each of the dealers, picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed.
The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded.
Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know - I thought you were watching."

MORAL OF THE STORY

Not all Irish are drunks, not all blondes are dumb,
...... but all men...are men!

Wise Italian Grandfather

Why Italian Fathers and Grandfathers pass their handguns down through the family.
An old Italian man is dying. He calls his grandson to his bedside, Guido, I wan' you lissina me. I wan' you to take-a my chrome plated ..38 revolver so you will always remember me."
"But grandpa, I really don't like guns.. How about you leave me your Rolex watch instead?"
"You lissina me, boy. Somma day you gonna be runna da business, you gonna have a beautiful wife, lotsa money, a big-a home and maybe a couple of bambinos. "
"Somma day you gonna come-a home and maybe finda you wife inna bed with another man.
"Whatta you gonna do then? Pointa to you watch and say, 'times up' "?

I think you would count this as a sit-com, but "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is an all-timer for me. And oddly enough, I was never as big on Seinfeld as everyone else was, even though it was created by the same person as Curb.

We LOVED this show until they canceled it and then brought it back. Larry David was one funny guy and just a marvelous supporting cast.

I also read most of King's early works. I think I stopped after The Stand, but the ones I read I loved.

Funny story, when I was reading The Shining, I didn't want to disturb my wife. We were just married for a few years and I used to sneak off and read in the bathroom at night. It was late and silly me, was reading in the tub (no water) and I got to the part when the boy finally got the courage to open the door to the room that was giving him all that trouble. Just when he opened the door, the people above me dropped something on the floor and scared the hell out of me. I literally jumped 2 feet in the air, came down, and hurt my back. Talk about suspense. When I told my wife, she is still laughing about it.

We just got back from our annual week on Cape Cod. We love the winter there and the walks on the beach, sunsets, and just no crowds. This year was different as we couldn't go out to eat and many stores that are usually open just weren't. But we persevered and had a good time. Took quite a few pixs and will put up a few when I can go thru them to see what is what.

In the meantime, here are some pics from other vacations.

Hope you enjoy

Reading Bob's list brought a big smile to my face. I really don't read as much now but when I did, I read all the classics and Sherlock Holmes was my absolute favorite. I read the anthology many, many times.
I also read all the Ian Fleming--James Bond books. Add to that I simply loved James Mitchener, Ludlow, Phillip Roth and everyone's all time favorite Salinger.

Since you mentioned sitcoms, nd older ones, I still watch All In The Family, whenever I can. Dated, maybe, but, almost like the Honeymooners, you know the lines that are coming and it is still hilarious.
Still love Cheers, MASH, even Friends has gotten better the more I watch it. and we never tire of Frazier reruns.
As for newer shows, Schitt's Creek is absolutely one of the best comedies on NETFLIX. The more you watch it, the funnier it gets.
