Man, that looks expensive for good, not great #s. No doubt he improves the D, but is he worth that much?

Schoen could not be a worse GM if he tried. fully expect him to trade up for JJ McCarthy given his stupid moves so far.

Seriously. The negativity is tiring.  I get we all vent at times. But I come here to chill, talk football, not get burdened with gripes.  I actually really enjoy following the offseason moves every year as the roster reshapes

Love getting a starting guard. But agree those are very average PFF #s

Hey Squib. My wife had the surgery 15 years ago with the set screws to hold things in place, and a cage in-between to grow bone to fuse together. It worked great.  Unfortunately I did not second guess the doctor and she got hooked on pain meds for about 5  years. When she got off the pain meds she was totally fine.
With that said. I would try two things  first that worked amazing for me. "How to treat your own back" by Robin McKenzie.  Takes less than an hour to read.  I threw out my back every year for 25 years.  Once I understood why,it's been over 12 years and have not had an issue since.
The other option is accupuncture. This has worked amazing for me for neck pain.
     Good luck!

Seems logical.  I'd like to see a quality guard in FA and a 2nd or 3rd rd draft pick as well. Ozeez is too unreliable to stay on the field and depth is non existent at edge

WR Rome Odunze
QB J.J. McCarthy

I believe QBs Williams, Maye, and Daniels go in some order 1,2, and 3

I think WR Harrison and WR Nabers go in some order 4 and 5

So who do you take?

All solid options. I like Alt, but that really depends if new o line coach feels Neal is better at guard.  I'd love a QB,but the 4th QB at 6 -You'd better be sold he is an upgrade. At this point, I think it's WR, with o line help in rd 2 and FA. A QB is definitely in play to move back into rd 1 or rd 2.

EliW.    This is exactly what we don't want here.  I noticed it in another thread too.  Please be respectful in your give and take with members.  Thanks.

Great thread Ritch. I'd prefer under 28 and would be ok with paying one of them top money.  Hopefully the results are far better than Solder.  Did we cut Zietler for cap reasons?

Quote from: Jclayton92 on February 17, 2024, 08:47:37 PMThat's my ideal draft at least as of mid February.

I think in the 6-8 range the Giants have a ton of options to get an elite talent.

JJ as our new QB1 in a trade down to #8 along With Polk, Benson, and Burton to pair with Hyatt and Wandale is a really exciting young offensive core. Then you also grab 2 studs on defense, an elite Safety to replace Mckinney, and Trotter Jr to pair with Okereke to give you one of the best young linebacking groups. Plus a talented tackle who could step in and be swing and an edge to develop later

Couple that with 2 guard signings, a DE, and a #2 and #3 Edge in FA and I think this is a playoff team next year or at minimum 8-9 with a ton of young talent to look forward to the future. Especially with the extra cap from Mccarthy being on a rookie deal.

I think that is how you can flip the Giants as an offense and a team in one offseason.

I really appreciate all your college insights.  I know you have reasons for not drafting o line early. I can respect that.  Personally,  I'd be disappointed if we don't grab more o line talent before the second sound closes

My first choice would be to hope a top 3 qb falls.  The second choice would be to trade up in rd 1 for McCarthy.  Fields would be an interesting trade option for a second rd pick if first two choices don't work out

Sure, it will be expensive,  but he's a young quality player.  I'd pass on  Barkley, Glow, and Adoree to get it done

I was ok with over drafting Jones at 6. The Giants felt he was the guy.   It didn't work and I'd be hesitant to repeat.  We have missed out on too many blue chip players and I don't think we will bypass one at 6.
I do feel confident that our GM can target a trade up in mid rounds to grab McCarthy if he falls into the sweet spot.
I'm surprised nobody has tossed around Fields name yet.  Reading a second may put him in play.

Makes perfect sense to mean.  Don't hand the RT position to Neal, make him earn it. Plus we need depth

85 sacks this past season, the second-most in NFL history

We should be able to get a solid guard at 39.  Evan Neal at tackle is the 2nd biggest decision after QB in my view.  Do we pluck a tackle at 6 ( if top 3 qb not on board) or grab WR?  I expect we will address the o line in FA and rd 2.

I agree the top 3 QBs will be gone at 6.  Neal impacts my decision.  Does the new o line coach committ to him at tackle or consider moving him to guard?  If the coach wants him at tackle, take the WR.   If a move is coming, take the tackle
I'd be ok with taking a qb in rd 2 if a good prospect is available.  Yet, all the draft guess-work means we have to sign a decent QB FA to a 1 or 2 year deal as well
