Black Hawk Down.

No politics.  No psycho drama or philosophical musings about the futility of war.  An intense look at a chaotic event in recent US history.  Its become a rare thing in Hollywood which lately seems to always want to inject some message or lesson.

I'm glad you agree that to oust a republican it takes a lot less.
I only replied to your post because of this line. Both men are guilty and both should have stepped down. Only 1 did. Your guy, the pussy grabber stayed in office and then urged his minions to storm the US capital in an act of terrorism that cost some their lives.
Maybe the Republican congressman from Florida will step down before being sent to jail for transporting minors to Florida for sex. One of these days someone on the right will do the right thing.

My guy, the pussy grabber, managed to dodge a bullet by shining a light on your guy Clinton the rapist.  It seems to have worked.  And remember, the PC term for riots is mostly peaceful protests.  Although I know the circumstances are different.  One was a day where the lives of our dear sweet democrat senators were threatened.  The other was 100 days where disgusting regular citizens were trampled on, beaten, stabbed and shot.  Black Lives Matter?  All Lives Matter?  No.  Democrat Senators Lives Matter.  I call that hypocrisy.  You can call it 'whataboutism'.

You think Cuomo did the right thing huh?    He ducked the media barrage is what he did.  One guy won because he slogged thru the media barrage because he is a shameless psychopath while the other guy ran and hid.  "At least our guy did the right thing"....pfftt...get outta here with that.

Even better, we have video footage of your boy Donny where he says, " I don't even wait, I just move in and start kissing, grabbing her by the pussy, moving on women like the bitches they are! Cuomo resigned but your rapist pal stayed in office and you still support the guy, that is very sad indeed.

Oh jeez.  I thought you were gonna produce those mythical pee tapes.

Well nobody said Trump was virtuous.  He is quintessentially the big middle finger in every way. To butt hurt democrats.  To the establishment.  To the Pentagon.  To women.  To gays. To his own supporters.  Trump is out for himself.  At least he didnt say "Hey whatcha gonna do uhh?  I'm Italian!  We talk wit' our hands and when I'm cupping your t!ts, its just my way of asking 'What time is it?' "

And we all know why Cuomo stepped down.  As he says, he didn't want the story to overshadow covid efforts because he is a man of courage and morals.  A true martyr.

Do I really gotta use the sarcasm emoji here?

Unless you are Trump and enabled by other felons.

I'm glad you agree that to oust a republican it takes a lot less.  I can only imagine the rage felt by the DNC and the FBI when they made up lame pee tape rumors and just couldnt substantiate any of it the way the truth was substantiated in the Cuomo case.  I mean seriously, when the truth is so obvious that your Roid Rage brother Fredo has to go into hiding to avoid covering it, its pretty bad.

Well remember, killing people wont get you fired, just ask Cuomo.  Ti++y grabbing, @ss grabbing, begging for sex from your employees and state troopers will...well if you do it for long enough and your brother who covers for you on CNN happens to be on vacation.  Just ask Cuomo.

Seriously, where did this come from?

Is there some big social upheaval over selective service?  And more specifically are women and even more specifically feminists in particular begging to be forced to sign up?  Because its the Democrats pushing for it.

What's wrong?  Not enough cannon fodder?

For all you with daughters, it would become, same as for men, a felony to not register.

Once again, the original topic betrays us. It is indeed a reflection of what is so seriously wrong with our country which is that our notion of freedom has become pernicious. Much of it is a consequence of the politics of low self-esteem.

Certainly, there is no worse affliction for anyone to have to bear than low self-esteem. While it is obvious that racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and religious bigotry are rampant, they are all a reflection of the insecurities, and delusions of a nation which has for so long has shouted, "We're Number One", not hypocritically, but rather as a defense against the truth, and the disgrace we all share.

You can also throw in the self esteem of those who choose to ramp up how rampant racism, xenophobia, misogyny and religious bigotry as an easy way of dismissing their own level of involvement in their own failures.

That's not to say racism, xenophobia, misogyny and religious bigotry don't exist and they most certainly do have an impact on the most susceptible but most reasonably strong and confident people are capable of fending off the versions of these things we have here in America.  Unlike other countries, when you're gay, you don't get pitched blindfolded off of rooftops.  Unlike some other countries, women are not being denied education.  Is that the measure we need to compare ourselves to?  Of course not but should we then aspire to be like...what....Sweden?  An ethnically homogenous country if there ever was one?

We may not be '#1', but then again who is?

Yeah although I don't think anyone is saying that non-vaxing should be illegal. So it's not quite the same thing.

And in abortion there are two bodies so its not quite the same thing.  Cuts both ways still.

I wonder why it is folks say that it is 'most likely' or 'more likely' to be of earthly origins.  Is it based on statistical likelihood?  Normalcy bias?  Is there actually evidence to suggest it came from earth?

Assuming these things are even real (and I am somewhat skeptical) and not, as some suggest, some sort of visual trickery, isn't it more likely to not have come from earth?  As a skeptic myself, I understand why it might be scary to suggest it.

In 2019, if you were to predict a plague would fall on humanity in 2020, you would have gotten a similar, maybe a little milder, reaction.

Whats the big deal about wearing a mask?  How does that cause division?

Some people got their heads up their ass and don't want to wear a mask because they think they have the right not to.  Others have taken this opportunity, with the full backing of left wing morality and the media's approval, to bash on those who wont wear a mask and accuse them of (in the words of this forum's most honest person who would never use hyperbole) "trying to kill their fellow Americans".

Seriously uconn, where have you been?

There is just too many of them recently and they would lose credibility to deny them especially since many of the sightings have come from the Military. There have been comments that they have significantly more they haven't shared. They claim they don't know what they are. It's possible these Tic-Tac type craft could be holographic or from another government. Russia has claimed they have weapon technology that can be deployed at many times faster than the speed of sound. It's the lack of any means of propulsion, sound barrier noise or water wake. They have moved to the destination of where a military deployment was scheduled before they arrived there. They move 80,000 feet to a level of 50 feet in less than a second. If one of these craft happen to become visible to a large crowd or a city, they would not look good to have dismissed them. The Government has a real concern over them.

Yeah the natural inclination to the recent response from our own Pentagon that they have no idea what these things are could mean it is from another government.  So which government?  Russia?  Hah!!  I don't believe anything the Russians claim.  They're a dying petro state and in spite of recent claims to the contrary they are far from America's biggest threat.  China?  China has historically not done much in the way of R&D opting to go straight to manufacture capitalizing on, among others, American tehcnological innovation.  They're close the gap but in spite of Biden's claims to the contrary, they haven't surpassed us.  They're more capable of producing because they have many more mid tier technical minds.  I can't imagine China has come up with things capable of doing things that our government now admits they don't have any idea what they are when they're so busy stealing our technological secrets.

These are either very well executed hoaxes capable of fooling the eyes of fighter pilots or they're something truly remarkable.

Jimmy, I have to honestly ask do you actually care about America or Americans?   It appears the ONLY thing you care about is your political agenda and people's lives be damned.   While you admit that the evil people at FOX News are literally killing people with their misinformation-based anti-vax messaging, other than not defending you REFUSE to talk about it and tangentially try to defend FOX by changing the subject or making inappropriate comparisons.

Yes, let us talk about Facebook.  For my job, I posted pro-vaccine messaging.   Facebook is so overrun with evil or misguided (you take your pick) anti-vaxxers that I had to go on the platform every hour to remove the false anti-vaxxer claims that were posted in response to the pro-vaccine message.  So President Biden was correct to call out Facebook's negligence in policing their platform for deadly misinformation.

As for suspending accounts, it seems Jimmy you are far angrier than your Republicans got suspended from Twitter for killing people by spreading FALSE information to keep people from being vaccinated, than you are about the deaths caused by the misinformation these elected officials are posting and the deaths they are causing.

I have to say from where I sit, it appears you really don't like my country and don't care about my fellow Americans, because there are two sides those trying to save lives and shockingly people trying to kill people.   You seem to be taking the position of attacking the life savers and indirectly trying to defend the killers

https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/20/politics/white-house-section-230-facebook/index.html

It appears the white house is reviewing section 230 now which protects social media platforms from liability for content posted.

Quote(CNN)The White House is reviewing whether social media platforms should be held legally accountable for publishing misinformation via Section 230, a law that protects companies' ability to moderate content, White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said Tuesday.

The Section 230 debate is taking on new urgency in recent days as the administration has called on social media platforms to take a more aggressive stance on combating misinformation. The federal law, which is part of the Communications Decency Act, provides legal immunity to websites that moderate user-generated content.

"We're reviewing that, and certainly they should be held accountable," Bedingfield told MSNBC when asked about Section 230 and whether social media companies like Facebook should be liable and open to lawsuits for publishing false information that causes Americans harm

None of this even remotely resembles standard practice of private companies as we traditionally think of it.  This is not a private company acting on their own.  This is government coercing a private company to act at the former's behest.

It's as open and ham fisted as anything Trump would do.  It looks like section 230 is getting attacked from two sides.

Where Trump wanted to remove protection under 230 based on the fact that social media were not acting as neutral speech platforms and were in fact acting as editors, it appears Biden is wanting to remove protection based on the fact that, at least in the case of Facebook, they're not editing as much as the White House would like.
