I think it's high time the Giants pay attention to what the Packers have done since they traded a second round pick to the Falcons for Brett Farve.

Even after he had established himself as elite the Packers would continue to draft a quarterback every couple of years even though it pissed Farve off. They let that guy sit, and learn and develop out of the spot light just in case they ever needed them. When it became apparent that they weren't going to need that player they traded him for more than they invested and started over again. Before they drafted Rodgers they drafted and traded Mark Brunnell, Aaron Brooks and Matt Hassleback. After Rodgers took over they drafted Flynn and Love. For 30 years they've always had a MVP caliber quarterback with a really good back up waiting in the wings.

It's no surprise that they are a playoff team just about every year. The position has just become too important to have a series of journeymen as backups. They should have drafted a quarterback three years before they picked Jones even if it annoyed Manning. That guy would have gotten three years of learning from a great quarterback with no pressure to perform. Instead we waited till the tires fell if Eli and then through Jones to the wolves. It just doesn't make sense  it's not 2000 anymore. The position is far too important.

jones never should have been inserted so soon. he had a HOF Qb to learn from. clearly, we have the same problems now we had in eli's later years. the offensive line. how is green bays OL by the way?
