Does the Rooney rule only apply to HC hirings?

I can't say the Chargers D really stood out this season and I don't really want anything to do with anyone connected to that Jacksonville meltdown (he was the DB coach).

Seems a pretty uninspired choice, if he's the guy.

Here's what the rule looks like now: 1. The NFL requires every team to interview at least two external minority candidates for open head coaching positions and at least one external minority candidate for a coordinator job

I want nothing to do with anyone who had anything to do with any Chargers defenses from recent years. They have big names on that D and they have been consistently inept. No thanks.
