Solid job to get points on the opening drive in a road situation. We were fortunate with the special teams penalty, but that's football.

The mistake was using Waller as a blocker on 3rd down and not a target.

These corners for the saints are bad, we should be doing passes in space sideline to sideline

I will say this, Devito is very confident. Still curious about his arm strength that very first play. If he would've put a little bit more juice on it, Slayton was beating his man.

This is what we need to work on as a team, any time we get behind on offense we can't ever get it right.

I see it differently. He moved us to get points. How many games have we even gotten points in first quarter? Big mistake was he didn't see the LB blitz after it appeared he was staying in coverage. His facial expression on the replay was interesting. Kinda like he was learning his mistake in real time again. Let's see how it plays out.

Barkley does not have great vision. He needs to run the ball better

It's not going to be a good look for our defense if we struggle to even contain a Derek Carr-led Saints offense minus Olave. This has not been a good unit at all this year.

And to think the Giants are in the hunt for a plaoff game. Totally dumb the new wild card format. Was so much better before. Another reason I cannot take Hockey or NBA seriously. You are playing 80+ games but you need 8 seeds to  a conference/division to figure out who the good teams are? :suspious:

Not one replay after that Barkley run stuff. Instead Fox shows 10 seconds of Saints defense congratulating each other in the same camera. What a horrible telecast this is.

Fox is a major drop off technically from the Aikman production crew.

Still relatively early though. There is time to turn it around, but the D needs to get a stop. This is not a juggernaut offense. Not by a long shot.

The last series - Devito saw something and immediately changed the play and went deep to Slayton. Pass wasn't great but his field presence is definitely improving. I had been begging Jones to audible at the line

With all these injuries this year, especially to QBs, the NFL won't do a thing as far as telling the refs to lighten it up a little with these personal foul calls. If anything you'll see more of them next year.

You only get to start knocking Taylor for whatever reason because DeVito got his head knocked which won't be the last time. Moreover, it has been much the same for Jones having had to dink/dunk or to run because the Oline can't protect nor run block worth a damn.

Cheers!

No way I give this guy anything big like that. He can't consistently be counted on to get short yards in the big spot. He's off the field more than not on 3rd down, drops too many passes, and simply runs into his oline all the time. ....then he busts one or two

See the poll I did a few days ago. Most fans want to give him a multi-year contract. It is pretty astonishing. As a fan base we get very emotional about our players, and the owner and by extension front-office gives in. See Sterling Shepard getting a roster spot this year (over someone actually additive like Crowder).

Pass rush is the blame? How about they are playing a good QB who can make a decisio fast and throw a dime at the sticks despite it being 3rd and 16. What a concept!

But heck there was no choice but to sign A DANIEL JONES to 160 / 90mil guaranteed. I mean this Carr guy -- who was a free agent -- can't play. :suspious:

In a way this is needed. Winning close games against very poor teams hides the deficiencies. And the owner gets suckered to believe they are better than they are and doesn't make the changes necessary.

I would prefer he reject it and we instead draft a fresh-legged, explosive 21 year old with no injury history who will be under contract with us for four years at $1.5-$2.0 mm a year. Let someone else give him the $10mm a year and significant guarantee he is going to demand.

Better when he has time for sure.    Why is he still not a Raider.
Definetly better than Tommy for sure but ...he has all day in pocket.  That helps any QB

DeVito has not had a good game. I don't think there is any other way to say it. Nobody on the offense played well, so he is not the only one, but he simply didn't play well today. Hopefully he's better next week. We'll need him to be if we are going to have any sort of shot of even being vaguely competitive in the next game.

The coverage has been tight. There hasn't been much time to throw deep and on the few occasions when there were opportunities the receivers couldn't catch the ball. This team can't maintain pass protection long enough to execute a basic three step drop without the threat of a running attack.

Coming into today, through 13 games, Carr had 13 TDs and 7 INTs, with a QB rating under 90.

Just looking at the standings quick, I count 15 QBs I'd take over Carr, which puts him exactly at the middle of the league. Again, the definition of average.

It is so obvious that the Gaints have a serious QB problem, and the Saints look decent because they have a decent QB

I do think it's time to move on as far as a quarterback goes the we're stuck next year, so might as well take our medicine and just do the right thing by getting at least more offensive line help also an edge rusher in most likely a running back.

As far as who we roll with, it's obviously gonna be Jones as the starter, DeVito as a back up, and I could see us also getting a cheap vet

If we could get a kings ransom I agree that would should stock up via the draft and build the rest of the team for the future qb....

Rather draft a qb the following season with a better o-line , and a true number 1 option  at wr to pair with Hyatt and Robinson waiting for him

And the team needs another EDGE to cause a disruption when Thibs is doubled and taken out the game

In many respects this was our worst game of the season. All our other embarrassing losses were to good, contending type teams. The only other game that comes to mind is the Seahawks game.

We are very bad. So are the Commanders and Pats, and it took multiple turnovers and missed chip shot type gaffes to beat those teams. The Pack team we just beat last week was riddled with injuries to their best players. Our other two wins were a squeaker against a Joshua Dobbs-led Cards team playing without Buddha Baker and another one score win against the Commanders.

We are a bottom five team in football, and we have no above average QBs on this roster. It's a shame we're going to end up picking something like 7th or 8th.

Neither Devito or Jones is the longterm answer and the franchise is going to continue to be embarrassing on offense until we find someone.

This is the year you get a Qb because this is the year with multiple elite QB prospects.

There are none of those next year, there may be 1 and the likelihood we get them is slim so we need to grab a guy this year while we have the option to do so.

Terrible performance in a lowkey big spot.

I'm trying to support Daboll but I'm continually left wanting more. I don't like this offensive scheme - I still see no QB under center / comprehensive run game. They had a good idea using Glow at TE but why not get into power run formations while you do it? And stay with it? Feature Barkley in new ways, out of favorable running formations, that keep the defense guessing week to week. Build play action off the run looks.

They do none of this. Shotgun inside handoffs every week. Everything helter-skelter, nothing executed crisply. No timely or interesting play calls in key situations. Great coaches manufacture 1st downs and keep their offense on the field with scheme, too. I haven't seen much of that this year.

Look at Carr. A middling QB - but he attacks. He threatens. His receivers make tough catches.

This offense just doesn't look well-coached, and this is much more concerning to me than the QB situation. And now we probably get 3 new coordinators next year? Not feeling it.

Cool, that's one game. How about the other decade of objective data, which clearly indicate Carr is a good QB?  Unless you're going to argue that OAK was some superior team?  Carr is a pro bowl, very good QB.  Is he a top 10 QB...no, which is why he's no longer in Oak. In todays NFL, you need a top 10 type QB to win SBs

Who is expecting that? Josh Allen could not do that . That is why they started running the ball more and kicked the pants off Cowboys last night. I do expect a QB that can actually see a blitz coming can actually read a defense and not take off running at the drop of a hat and miss like 50 PER CENT OF THE GAMES , AFTER BEING A 5 YEAR PRO.
