Big Blue Huddle / Re: Giants vs Jets Game Thread

Quote from: Dgoodmantrublu on August 26, 2023, 09:33:31 PMSills was terrible. He gets no separation against man coverage, only soft zone. A poor route and effort led to a pick 6. There were two other passes he should have caught. He's terrible. If he's getting meaningful playing time, your receiving group is poor.
Dude is far from terrible.  Has been the epitome of smart, tough, dependable. Just doesn't quite have the skills to get it done consistently.  Has been a great teammate and purveyor of culture.  There is a reason a fringe guy like this has been kept around for this long.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Hyatt beating sauce twice
August 26, 2023, 11:49:01 PM
The space that Hyatt gives Waller, and vice versa, is very very hard for defenses to handle, especially when Dabs/MK throw different looks and designs. Gonna have some guys wide open as 3rd options.  Praying that the OL can let it all play out

Sorry if I am hijacking this, but Sexy Dex's destruction of Q Nelson last year was among the most awesome physical plays in Gmen history.  LT probably has most of the top 10, but it is up there with:

Bavaro Steam Roll in SF (my favorite football play of all time)

Jacobs Steam Roll of LaRoids Landry on Thursday Night opening day

Reasons "The Hit" (#1a to Bavaro)

Most plays in Super Bowl XXI from Carl Banks

Jay Bromley sack of Brady in Super Bowl XLII

Dex is a beast and only think he is going to get better...

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Darnay Holmes, the PFF story
August 19, 2023, 09:01:08 AM
Not a big Holmes fan.  But this said, if in fact it looks like Adoree is going to play more slot CB with the emergence of the rooks on the outside, Holmes sticks around as insurance given AJ22 tends to get dinged up a bit.  Knows the system and Wink seems to like him more than we do.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Rapaport say Barkley signs

Question, and I apologize if I missed this somewhere above in this thread.  Does the fact that they agreed on a 1 year contract, as opposed to SB playing on the tag, mean that the option of negotiating a longer term deal is back on the table as an option?  Not saying that is what will happen, just curious if that is one of the hidden elements of this deal.  Thanks

Just taken by Saints at 195

I think they will go some combo of CB/5T or 5T/CB as first two picks.  Would guess from there its WR/C/S in some order

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Which is a better path

The elite QB would of course be great, but there are like 5-6 of them on the planet.  Lots of luck required to find one of those.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 29, 2023, 12:04:15 PMThe Bengals have cap space.  So he might not be available.
True, but they have a bunch of guys lined up to be paid, so they will have to make choices

Would add Germaine Pratt to the list as well.  Will pay extra close attention to him today.

I for one hope the QB room stays the exact same - HC, OC, QB Coach, DJ, TT, DW.  Stability and continuity, familiarity with system, better weapons hopefully and ability to expand playbook.

Not sure if he got any snaps, but he was in uniform in the Sights and Sounds video.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 04, 2023, 10:22:30 AMI can understand Trent Williams getting a Pro Bowl nod at LT but it seems wrong for two RTs

Lane Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles*
Tristan Wirfs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

to get the nod ahead of Andrew Thomas
Williams, Wirfs, and Johnson are all tremendous tackles.  Doesn't make AT any less good.  I am like everyone else in that I want him to receive the recognition he deserves, but we all know he was maybe the best player on the entire team this year and we maybe witnessed the best season of LT for the NYG in the last 50 years.  We all know.

Think that was Buckner as well.  This, along with Dex's steam roll of Nelson for the sack were just flat out bad ass plays!

As has been stated in previous discussions on this topic, Shaquille Leonard is listed at 229 lb.   Collins can be effective if used creatively as Wink has done so far.  Oh, and the rest of the MLBs on this team are hot garbage.
