I am done with reading all the make believe mocks and the discussions that they create. Want to have discussions of what really happens!

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Brian Daboll on Darren Waller

I don't expect Waller is on the team come August.

Quote from: kingm56 on April 25, 2024, 08:32:55 AMI don't believe so; instead, I believe it's a reflection of the reality and the Giants relative draft position.  In short, of the top QBs, JJ is the most likely to still be available at #6.  It doesn't make much sense to invest time in Williams or Daniels when it's highly unlikely the Giants will have a chance to draft either.

I took the comment as McCarthy spent more time with the Giants then any other team.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on January 24, 2024, 09:14:50 AMGood question. I guess the answer would be that they have limited opportunities elsewhere. And they may feel that the unit that's the biggest liability on the Giants is the offense, so even if Daboll gets fired after a bad season in 2024, it may not be viewed by others as their fault.

But it's a fair question for sure. If I were a DC candidate with multiple options, I would want to go somewhere more stable like Dallas.
So it's bad to go to the Giants because the HC might get fired before his contract is up but it's better to go to Dallas who has a coach working with only one year left on his contract.
I think you used the wrong example in your comment.

Quote from: Giantleap56 on January 24, 2024, 12:18:00 PMOnly thing I would want from the Bills is Josh Allen and Stephon Diggs. Other than that I want nothing to do with that coaching staff.

Diggs is not the same player he used to be and doesn't seem like a team player.
Let him go play with his brother with his $27 million cap hit next season.

Please stop with Barkley to the Eagles nonsense.
I mean if they are such a great run team from the front office perspective that most people want to claim then they won't over spend for a RB with injury history.

Curious to see who get paid better Barkley or Henry.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Should the Giants cut Waller?

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on January 16, 2024, 05:42:42 PMI'm sort of with Coggs. I'm kind of indifferent. The amount saved (6 and change mil) isn't enough for it to feel obvious to me to cut him, but I also wasn't particularly impressed with him on the field nor do I have any confidence that he can play much more than 12 games or so. Gun to my head I'd probably say cut him and put that savings towards perhaps an O line free agent, but I'm not overly bothered either way. I have stronger views about certain other players.
This article claims they will save $12 million if cut June 1st.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: What do we want in the Draft?

There is a real good chance the Giants will have the 4th choice of QBs if the Bears decide to take one. No way the chargers don't trade back to a team that wants a QB.
Early predictions are looking more and more like a WR but I would take a oline Tackle even if that means he plays on the right for the 1st time in his career.
They have to fix this oline and the two tackles on the roster are injury prone!

Quote from: Stringer Bell on January 09, 2024, 11:40:13 AMAnd Hyatt has a LONG way to go on basically every aspect of being an NFL WR, let alone a highly productive one.

There should be no surprise that Hyatt needs some time to develop.
Will these coaches and player be able to accomplish this has some hope due to his catching ability and speed.

Quote from: coggs on January 09, 2024, 08:16:46 PMI would also put Cordell Flott $933K savings with $496k dead money. Aaron Robinson $1.3MM savings with $275K dead money. And, Carlos Basham Jr, $1.4MM savings with no dead money, as likely cuts.

Flott is going to be on the team next season and possibly the starting slot CB.
Your take on this makes no sense but who knows we will see come September later this year.

Quote from: Stringer Bell on January 09, 2024, 01:47:17 PMBecause he's constantly injured and a waste of a roster spot?

He's going to be sort of playing next season for the Giants.
The injuries are crazy with him along a few other players but the money he is owed is minor for the few games he will play average at a position the team is lacking.

Azeez Ojulari has another year on his contract.
Why does anyone think he will be cut with a salary of $2.1 million?

The player I thought of 1st was Mike Onwenu.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 27, 2023, 01:00:03 PMI'm not in any way saying this is untrue, because it totally makes sense, but can you think of any examples in the past decade or so of a free agent receiver signing that worked out great for the team giving the contract and where it was a clear mistake for the previous team to let him walk?

Not saying there aren't any. I'm sure there are. Just struggling to recall them myself.
Does Tyreek Hill count?
