Quote from: TONKA56 on Today at 05:39:42 AMI believe we may be looking to the 2026 draft and will tread water until then.
Quote from: madbadger on April 26, 2024, 09:53:19 PMI don't get it. Coming into the draft the defense was clearly better than the offense and we chose to use three of our first four picks to add to the defense. I guess they're just lanning on winning games 14-10. Not knocking adding Burns, Nubin or Phillips. Just doesn't make sense to me.
Quote from: madbadger on April 26, 2024, 11:53:21 AMMy whole premise is that you want to build the offense to the point that you can go all in on a quarterback in 2025 and have the pieces around him to maximize his chances of success. The starting line currently looks like Thomas-Runyan-JMS-Eluemuno—Neal. After that we have no quality depth and Neal has been awful. If Neal doesn't improve quickly I could see the Giants benching him and kicking Eluemuno outside and opening a need for someone who is better than Ezudu at guard.
I understand in doing that you lose the chance to draft a starting corner but you hope that between Thibs, Dex, Burns and Okereke that you can create enough pressure to protect Banks, Flott and Hawkins. Not a perfect solution but at the end of the day there are no silver bullets available.
Quote from: Uncle Mickey on April 26, 2024, 11:54:29 AMWho you liking? Kool Aid, Melton Newton Benson Tampa?
Kinda feelin' the CB too
Quote from: Uncle Mickey on April 26, 2024, 11:38:42 AMGuy can play either OC or OG or OC (if JMS gets hurts/bust) then you get Jermaine who can play RT (If Neal gets hurt/busts)
Guy is a POWERS-HOUSE! Sorry Dad joke
Thomas-Runyan-JMS-Powers- Eleumenor/Neal
Is it overkill? Maybe. I just love the talent and think he is your new Chris Snee day 1 starter for the next decade.
Quote from: MightyGiants on April 26, 2024, 10:23:20 AMIt appears this is who Parsons wanted the Cowboys to draft

Quote from: killarich on April 26, 2024, 10:00:36 AMThink anyone would give a second rounder for Slayton ? lol
I like the dude but I want the team to get a beefy DT and Corner
Quote from: kingm56 on April 26, 2024, 08:45:48 AMI've been trying to reconcile this move too, Matt. Here's the best I could do:
1. They want an insurance policy for a 35 year old QB coming off an ACL injury
2. If Penix showcases some skills, his potential trade value could be worth more than '' pick; thus, representing a positive ROI.
Quote from: spiderblue43 on April 26, 2024, 08:34:08 AMThat's what Blank was probably saying too last night. Can't defend that move on any level. Mind boggling. Why bother to sign Cousins (and tamper)? Trade down..add picks and still get Penix mid-round. Or simply add a quality player.
Quote from: Rosehill Jimmy on April 26, 2024, 08:18:17 AMThe only possible explanation would be if the Cousins rehab is not coming along as expected. Otherwise, a real head scratcher
