The vanilla reference wasn't skin tone, it was just that his life is vanilla...

Lions at 3-6 and Colts at 4-5-1 are the only games they have left against teams that currently have losing records.

At 7-2 they are no lock for the playoffs and will have to earn it down the stretch.  Will be interesting to see how much this team can elevate their play down the stretch.

Regardless of how they finish, we are going to get to see meaningful games in December   <:-P

After reading more comments about fitting all the guys the team should re-sign under the cap, I have to say, it's a refreshing debate we haven't seen in a while.

Cut him a break with the Redskins thing.  He's the BBH historian not a current events guy.

Quote from: MightyGiants on November 15, 2022, 06:28:13 PMWhat I am curious about is where the officials were when this happened.   Considering the head wasn't pulled sideways, I could see officials missing this if they weren't in the right position

Jim Miller said he rewatched it today and there was an official who had a clear view.  He was as dumbfounded as we are as to how it didnt get called.

It was discussed a bit on his show with Pat Kirwan today as they are both proponents of replay being able to make obvious penalty calls or reversals.

Officials missing obvious ones like that is really bothersome.

Quote from: Rambo89 on November 15, 2022, 06:06:37 PMYou only have so much cap room.  Should you decide to resign Daniel Jones and Barkley that means you can forget about adding a big money vet WR.  Any significant upgrades to the WR will have to come via the draft.  As long as you're ok with that then that's fine.

I am good with that.  The last few years draftd have had plenty of good WRs come out of the 2nd round. They're certainly not all Devante Adams, AJ Brown or Deebo Samuel.

Obviously if you go 1st round there is a better chance you are getting a true #1 ( or X if you prefer).

Not sure if 100% agree, but Gil Brandt always says "you can find WRs on any street corner".  Probably not the truly elite guys, but I get his point that it's not the most difficult position to find in the draft.

I think mentally Murray may be more suited for baseball.

Quote from: TDToomer on November 15, 2022, 08:59:54 AMI am glad the Eagles lost but wow how badly did the refs miss that blatant facemask that lead to the fumble by Goedert? Since it was a turnover the play was automatically reviewed so everyone saw the facemask but penalties are not a reviewable play so it stayed a missed call. You could argue that had Goedert not had his neck twisted he would have held onto the ball. Nice job refs!

I agree and mentioned it when it happened.  It really makes no sense to me that they cannot review for something like that.  It's not subjective like pass interference.  I know the refs can have their view obstructed on the field but that was so obvious on the replay that it's hard to just say it's a missed call and cannot be reviewed.  And I agree that might have been part of what caused the fumble.

Silver lining is that it helped the Eagles lose, but I always worry something like that will happen to the Giants.

I am happy it hurt the Eagles, but that type of stuff could cost the Giants at some point too.

So they are going to review the play but cannot review for the obvious face mask. Ridiculous

I don't want to start a whole thing here but McLaurin is better than WR on the Giants.  Samuel is probably as well.

I didnt think this game would be a an easy one for the Eagles.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on November 14, 2022, 07:19:19 PMHe didn't have a 115QBR in Tennessee he had a 26.2 QBR which is horrible.

I think people are conflating QB Rating and QBR (which could have been named better to avoid confusion).  QBR's highest rating is 100.

We are debating whether or not Jones is a top 10 QB or can be.

Really I think the question is do you think they can be a perennial contender with Jones at QB? Or is the ceiling a team that truly contends for a year or two but is otherwise around or in the playoffs but not able to win games in the postseason?

You have to take into account that he will be paid north of 30m/year (more than that if they go to the playoffs consistently) and how much help he will need.

Will they be able to maintain a consistent roster?  Or will he need too much around him and they won't be able to keep it intact for more than a season or two?

Whether he is 8th, 10th or 14th best QB for me that's the question.

Quote from: madbadger on November 14, 2022, 01:43:02 PMThat's grotesquely unfair to Engram. At least on occasion Engram would make a big play. All we get from Golladay is garbage. He's awful.

Engram was king of dropping the easy 1st down but making the incredible catch.
