From the standpoint of the quality of the overall product delivered to the end user, this has to be one of the worst NFL seasons in a long time.

Rich, I expect to see the league do a study to determine if there needs to be rule changes to protect these QBs. This is crazy. I also think it's time to allow the 3rd QB to be elevated and not count towards the 47 at some point.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

I tend to agree with Mike Lombardi, who suggests these injuries may be the result of a lack of quality O-linemen.  By quality, we are talking about they are good at their assignments and they are capable intellectually in terms of knowing their assignments, especially with twists and stunts.

There are enough rules protecting QB's. What is the league going to mandate, the defense has to count to five Mississippi before rushing the passer? Qb's are more mobile thus are more susceptible to hits despite the league coddling them, and in addition to league wide mediocre to poor OL play. More protections has led to more injuries. A paradox for certain. The league has in the last several years have actually diminished their product by changing the game from what it is, a COLLISION, CONTACT sport that at times can be violent. All for the sake of the owners cya, and the pursuit of the casual fan who wouldn't know the difference between a football and an egg, both being oval. The change in the CBA cutting down practice times has diminished the amount of time players can train/prepare for hitting, and being hit. The following is an audio/visual of an article in today's Bergen Record(and other dailies) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfUfCOefyGE&ab_channel=InjuryStaff

Worth the listen.

The lack of practice time the owners put in the 2011 CBA is a major reason for many of the problems.   The owners traded away the quality of the product for a bigger slice of the pie.  Offensive linemen really only develop in padded practices which are now minimal.

In the AFC only 6 of 16 QBs that were slotted as QB1 are still playing in that role.  A couple of those were benching, the rest were injuries.
