Quote from: AZGiantFan on Today at 11:06:21 AMIt's not a question of capitulation.  I'm not even a big Jones supporter.  What I am is an opponent of putting all of the blame for being disappointed with the regime for the the last 6, hell 10, years on his his shoulders and the ridiculousness of calling the sea of incompetence he's has to swim in excuses.  There is a difference between excuses and explanations.

This is factually incorrect. Not ONE PERSON has PUT "ALL the blame" on his shoulders!....not ONE SINGLE PERSON HAS DONE THAT. Ever.

For what it is worth, the Giants "Strength of Schedule" Ranks #6 in terms of "toughness" at 0.516.

Every team's Strength of Schedule

In the NFC East:

Giants: T#6 (0.516)
Cowboys: T#12 (0.505)
Commanders: T#16 (0.502)
Eagles: T#21 (0.491)

As if the Giants don't have their work cut out for them within their own walls. But, that's your reward for finishing third in your division.

Whiskey tango foxtrot, over?

Peace!

If this thing goes to seven games, and it is a possibility it very well could, this article is a sobering fact facing the eventual winner of the series:

Hurricanes vs Rangers is heading towards mutually assured NHL destruction

Peace.

Quote from: files58 on Today at 11:45:36 AMAs far as winning a Cup, I'm Machiavellian.

If the Rangers make it through this round, their next opponent is the epitome of your descriptor.

You need not have watched the third period last night; you described it perfectly without seeing it. The entire space in front of Igor was completely undefended. Inexplicable! Cut to a Daffy Duck cartoon where he says "In---des--picable!" and substitute the word and that sums it up.

They wanted a series for the ages, well, they're getting their money's worth now!

Meanwhile, back in Mile High country, my dream Stanley Cup final took yet another blow as Dallas beat down Colorado into submission last night. A Vancouver - Dallas Western Conference semifinal is slowly starting to take shape. #1 Pacific vs. #1 Central seems inevitable.

Tonight, do the Panthers put the Bruins away? doesn't look good for Beantown.

Peace!

However true that may be, and, in any case, of no consolation, it can be said for at least half the teams in the League except perhaps Jerrah's Boys who through some twist of fate haven't played for a Conference Championship in what will be 29 years, or almost 2 1/2 times longer than Our Heroes. That gotta hurt! Then again, it's been even worse for Washington's NFC Least.

Cheers!

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 12:38:27 PMIt seems like you refuse to give Jones any credit for the team's success, but are more than willing to blame him for the team's shortcomings.

To the last 8 games, to avoid that issue, I will look at how Jones did

From last to earliest

Opponent -- QB rating -- QBR -- PFF grade

Eagles -- 53.8 -- 11.7 -- 46.7
Vikings -- 114.1 -- 82.5 -- 80.9
Colts -- 125.2 -- 97.0 -- 81.9
Vikings -- 92.8 -- 59.1 -- 85.3
Washington -- 77.6 -- 76.8 -- 75.8
Eagles -- 96.1 -- 77.0 -- 78.0
Washington -- 104.3 -- 32.5 -- 68.4
Cowboys -- 88.8 -- 60.9   -- 50.8

So to answer your question, the team didn't do that well, but more often than not Jones played well.
Thanks to the Vikings and Dolts.

I have to disagree about the needs and they omitted Adoree Jackson as a loss.

RB and TE will not likely be a signing priority. I'd like a veteran CB but there is no way the Eli/Anne act come back to town. They should have resigned Leo Williams. It was a good trade but he was available at the end of the season.

Quote from: Ed Vette on Today at 12:24:42 PMBy a brilliant Offensive drafted by Daboll to disguise Jones deficiencies and work to his Run Strength. Saquon, Dink, Dunk, Read option. Then at the end of the season the league figured it out and they got lucky to face the lousy Vikings Defense. How did those last eight games go again?
