He was released by the Ravens this afternoon.

Big Blue Huddle / Wilson
March 08, 2024, 11:38:48 AM
Giants met with Russell Wilson in an exploratory conversation. Not a fan of Wilson or the Gmen considering him.

Has he been hired by another team. I don't recall seeing anything and was curious.

Big Blue Huddle / Saquon
February 03, 2024, 10:20:35 AM
Story in NY post that Saquon is at the top of Jim Harbaughs wish list for the Chargers. If true it looks like at least he will have 1 suitor.

Big Blue Huddle / Changes
January 09, 2024, 08:49:51 AM
A lot of comments on the staff changes both positive and negative. I also see comments that Daboll is on the hot seat and that this is a bad look. My take is that if the man is on the clock he should go with his vision and judgement regardless of the noise. For years I have heard that Mara has screwed everything and that no one else can make a decision. I say go out or in on your own and this way you can succeed or fail on your own. This season was a disaster and changes were absolutely necessary to send the message that it was unacceptable. Other than maybe 5/6 players no one s/b safe. I say go for it and let the chips fall where they may.

Big Blue Huddle / Honestly
November 29, 2023, 09:36:16 AM
I haven't posted much or even watched all Giant games this year, as this has been one of the most disappointing seasons for me in the last 40 years. I'm seeing all this love for Tommy Devito and have to wonder if we have fallen so low that this type of play is encouraging. I watched Sundays game and to be honest, for me, it was one of the worst offensive performances by both teams that I have seen. I don't want to be a downer as we are all fans, but come on. I would love to get on this train but I'm not seeing it at all.

Big Blue Huddle / Questions
September 18, 2023, 10:41:42 AM
I wasn't able to see the game other than highlights and I have a couple of questions.

1 - Did Simmons play and how was he
2 - How was Evan Neal
3 - Is the 6th rd. CB playing and or starting
4 - Kayvon pitched a shutout so I assume he wasn't impactful

Any insight would be appreciated.

Big Blue Huddle / Draft Analysts
April 29, 2023, 08:31:33 AM
I find it amazing how different the evaluations of players are from one analyst to the other. The WR we selected in the 3rd round is a perfect example. The reviews range from top guy to bum. For all the time people spend reviewing these guys and I'm talking about people paid to do this, you would think there would be more consensus. I don't know much about many players and left the draft feeling good. But obviously I don't know much and even if I did it's still only an opinion.

P.S. I wouldn't have touched Anthony Richardson with a ten foot pole, and I say that as a Gator fan, But again I don't know squat.

Big Blue Huddle / Strahan's View
February 08, 2023, 09:10:14 AM
An article in todays N.Y. post shows Strahan to be very positive on both Jones and Barkley. He believes the Giants can win but need both back. If anyone can import the article it would be great.

Big Blue Huddle / ILB
January 26, 2023, 11:45:51 AM
It has been mentioned many times that ILB is not an impactful position and doesn't rate the money of edge rusher, DT , CB etc. I must say after watching last weeks games that 2 of the most impressive guys to me were Fred Warner, SF and Milano on Buffalo. These 2 put their imprint on the game in many ways and I would say were arguably the 2 best players on defense for both teams. I would love a guy like this for the Giants.

Big Blue Huddle / Success Question
January 23, 2023, 08:07:20 AM
If you don't win the Super Bowl is your season a failure. I realize the goal is to always win the Super Bowl but if you fall short does that make the season unsuccessful. I thought this season, although ending poorly, was wonderful. I enjoyed this season greatly for the limited success, the new staff and F. O. and the Daniel Jones story. When I read this board it seems for many the season was a failure. Posts about mediocrity and the shortcomings of the team are everywhere. I know we need improvement to be a SB contender and tough choices have to be made but after what we have been through I loved our turnaround. I guess I'm an optimist. What say you.

Big Blue Huddle / Backhanded Compliment
January 16, 2023, 09:30:55 AM
I have heard both here and on sports radio about the Coaching staffs impact on Daniel Jones and the passing game. I have also heard the notion that Jones has reached his ceiling with Daboll. While I agree to an extent I feel this minimizes Jones and his accomplishments. I wonder if the reverse is true in that Jones was held back by Judge and the prior staff. In any event, I give Jones full credit for having endured a hostile fan base and inept coaching to reach the level he is at now. In the end no matter how great the coaching, the player has to do it. IMHO this guy is the real deal.

Big Blue Huddle / Gates Comments
January 11, 2023, 12:10:49 PM
Listening to sports radio they were making a big deal out of Gates comments that Minnesota fans weren't as loud as he thought they would be. He attributed that to they being polite , nice mid westerners. Is this a big deal that will incite the crowd or a nothing burger.

Big Blue Huddle / Sundays Game

Big Blue Huddle / Mark Sanchez
January 04, 2023, 03:08:54 PM
I was listening to sports talk radio and Sanchez was the guest. When he was asked if there was a team that was better than perceived, he picked the Giants. He was effusive in his praise of Jones, saying to do what he did in the N.Y. market with the general feeling from the fan base to move on was incredible. He cited the London game as the game that moved him. He also praised Daboll, Wink and the Giants Defense. It was surprising and pleasing to me. His last comment was that whoever draws the Giants and they have played them once or not at all was in for an eye opener. He sounded more optimistic than half this board. I have to admit, he got me psyched.

Big Blue Huddle / Endorsements
November 17, 2022, 08:10:12 AM
Two articles today in the New York Post from Joe Judge and Archie Manning. In both articles the subject is Daniel Jones and his ability to lead the N.Y. Giants. Nice to read and in Judges case a lot of class.

Article in N.Y. Post today that lays out the timeline on this woman's claims and contradicts everything she stated, regarding Florida's numbers. She is going to be prosecuted and has been proven to be a liar and a thief.

The Front Porch / Critical Race theory
April 18, 2021, 11:53:30 AM
There were 2 stories this week on CRT. One involved a math teacher and the other a parent. They were 2 different schools in Manhattan that are considered elite and are quite expensive. Both men wrote letters that were highly critical of the teaching and implementation of CRT in the schools. The main objection, IMHO, was that CRT was overwhelming traditional teaching methods and made race front and center in any discussion. It also stated the schools were not interested in Listening to different opinions. I'm not sure if anyone here saw this but i was quite surprised to hear the details of this theory and the dismissal of any counter opinion by the schools. I am interested if anyone here has heard about this and what they're feelings are.
