There shouldn't be anyone sitting in the Green Room in the 2nd and 3rd rounds with a desperate expression on their face. Surprise Joe Alt isn't in there...or JJ :-??

There will be prospects that are invited who would prefer to spend draft night with friends and family, I would think.
How was JJ McCarthy not invited?

He should be there. He's a top ten pick and it's a big deal for that Franchise and their fans. Do you know how they decide on who to invite? Do they ask the top teams to submit a short list of names and come up with a factor?
Sitting in that green room can potentially really be humiliating especially with the camera constantly on you.

Yup, I agree.

I remember both Aaron Rodgers and Geno Smith feeling awkward. ARodge never let anyone forget, too.
Does JJ's absence have any significance with our heroes? I think JJ Jint love has been a smokescreen.

Simply dont know. There has been real love with some picks.

I believe I heard once that the NFL informally surveys teams to develop the list. As for JJ (or any prospect showing up), that is for the benefit of the NFL and their over-the-top TV production. Players attending the draft have zero impact on the team that drafts them (seeing a player forced to bro-hug Rodger Godell will not help a player on the field)

Hundreds of fans attend the event to support their team. Thousands watch. If you think it means nothing to them to see their first round pick with the team hat on getting called up on stage, and the excitement it generates, as well as the picture going up on the team website and all over twitter, then I just don't see it from your perspective.

This is just me, but I completely respect a player who prefers to spend the big moment in his life with family and friends.
