Does anyone think that Schoen, in trying to save his job, will trade up to get a QB , most likely Maye, and then say to Mara that you have to let  Daboll and me time to develop him.

Does he have a chance to make the team ? Anyone know anytrhing  about him ?     Thanks

In last years draft , Schmitz and Joe Tippman from Wisconsin were considered the two top centers in the draft and many pundits lauded them as future all pros.

In evaluating Schmitz' performance last year , he was not given a very good one.

I am not an offensive line judge , far from it , but can someone whose knowledge of offensive lineman and their performance is far, far greater than mine please tell me what were Schmitz' shortcomings, what does he have to improve in, is he still in the conversation of a possible All Pro and our center for years to come and might be considered a poor draft choice, ( too early ?) ? . Centers seem to have lengthy careers in the NFL.

I know absolutely nothing about him.

If Schoen drafts a QB at 6 wouldn't it be difficult to fire him and Daboll because they could say we have a QB of our choice not one that was handed to us and we need time to develop him?

I am asking this question to those on this forum who have better knowledge of these players than I do .

Should the Giants have signed Hunter instead of trading for Burns ? Hunter signed for 2 years $49 million and Burns contract is 5 years and $141 million which could become $150 million , plus we gave upo 2 draft picks .

Can someone please explain to me why OL and DL run the 40 yard dash ? What is the purpose of them running it in shorts and a tee shirt or for that matter why have them run it at all? What does it show ? It has little or no bearing on the evaluation of an OL or DL .

In a game , they barely run 10 yards, if that much and they are in full football gear . If they are running 40 yeards something is not right with the offensive play called.

If wse signed Gabe Davis as a FA , and Nabers, Odunze and Alt were available at 6 who would you draft ? I understand that Davis might not be considered an elite number 1 WR but he is probably better than what we have .
 Davis, Robinson, Slayton, Hyatt, Hodgins, Waller , ( if he can healthy ) , while not being the best WR core can be quite good .

It has been reported that Kliff Kingsbury will now become the OC with the Commanders . With Dan Quinn , an excellent defensive coach, and Kingsbury who coached Patrick Mahomes and has experience with young QBS , those two , along with Alex Peters the new GM , make a formidable trio.

Added to the fact that the Commanders have the second draft pick plus the most cap money to spend , pluse more draft picks from their trades of Sweet and Young , this team is on the eway up.

This was something I read recently . Macadoo was not a very good coach for the Giants but he was a big believer in Patrick Mahomes. He went alone in 2017 to see his pro day workout. In that draft the Giants drafted 23rd and there was nothing written that he tried to convince the Giants to trade up to number 10 where KC picked Mahomes . If I am not mistaken , didn't the Chiefs trade up to draft Mahomes?

In that draft Myles Garrett and Christian McCaffery were top 10 picks , Garrett , number 1 .


In 2017, the Giants still had  Eli , but his tenure was coming to an end Mahomes did sit behind Alex Smith for a year and he could have done the same with the Giants  instead of Geno Smith.

Imagine the Giants now with Mahomes as their QB ?

Do Not overlook The Commanders. It looks like Ben Johnson will be their next head coach. They have the second draft pick which will give them a potentially , and I emphasized POTENTIALLY , franchise QB and they have the most Cap money to spend in the NFL.

If the Giants do not resign him , look for the Commanders to give Barkley the contract he wants . AS you saw with the Lions , Johnson loves running backs .

He wasn't good enough to be an OL on the Giants but he is good enough to be the starting guard on a team going to The Super Bowl. " Something is rotten in the State Of Denmark " !!!

If Sequon Barkley was not resigned and then he signed on with the Eagles or Cowboys ? How about with the Commanders with their new QB , Caleb Williams or Drake Maye

If the Cowboys don't do that well in the playoffs and Jerry Jones fires McCarthy and hires Belichick who then reunites with Josh McDaniels as his OC and brings along Mike Vrabel as his DC, what would be your thgoughts and would you have any concerns short term or even long term ( 3 years ) ?

Strictly as respects to our  draft position , who do we as Giants fans want to  root for this weekend? Obviously, we want to see The Bears win their  game .

WE have so many needs , the most glaring being the OL , that maybe drafting a so called ," franchise QB " with our first pick might not be the smartest move.

Jones is being paid $40 million next year and any QB we draft will sit behind him unless he gets hurt, so our first round pick if it is a QB will noit improve our team at all, while an OL if he is the right one , and edge rusher or a legitimate ACE receiver would . As respects the latter only Marvin Harrison JR or Keon Coleman would fit that requirement .

He was released by the Patriots today, wouldn't he be a better optioinn than what we have now ?

If Belichick is let go by the Patriots, would you sign him as head coach? He probably would want full control but I would not fire Schoen .
