I've gone back and forth between first ballot and "eventually" getting in. Heck, give it to him on the first ballot!

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 10:35:57 AMDidn't Jones play like one preseason series last year?

Again, this unwavering faith in a QB who simply lacks the chops to be a starter in this league.

Does he have the athleticism and work ethic? Sure. He's just missing that processing ability that starters possess. Davis Webb is a guy that had a lot of positive factors save for one: processing the field.

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 10:05:19 AMDJ played all of 5 games last year, so is it really accurate to say he is in year three, especially as he has a new play caller this season?

Plus the preseason. He looked like garbage last year too.

More TDs (via pick sixes) than TDs to his teammates from the start of last season until the mid-point of the Washington game?

Is this the hill you want to defend?

Quote from: MightyGiants on September 19, 2024, 11:04:57 AMHave you considered the constant change in schemes and coaching staff?  How many play-callers has he played under?

Season 3 with Daboll/Kafka. Outside of the smoke and mirrors of the first year (which wasn't all that impressive but managed to get into the playoffs), it's been downhill from there.

Why?

The league adapts whereas Jones...doesn't. Doesn't matter who the offensive playcaller is, he just doesn't perform at the level that the #6 overall pick should perform.

He's leached enough off the franchise. Send him packing at the end of this season.

I don't think anyone else really want the job when Shurmur took over. Whoever took that role was setup to lose.

Hey - at least Jones finally has more TDs to his teammates instead of opponents!

Yeah, defense is clearly the issue. Not the fact that they were missing a kicker, dropping passes in crunch time, fumbling in critical situations, or continues to trot out a QB that looks like a deer in headlights despite solid O-Line play.

Does the defense need to play better? Absolutely. Giving up 200+ yards of rushing is awful.

Until Jones proves otherwise, I'm doubtful of the ability to win a game because of him.

Daniel Jones has 1 win, 2 TD passes and 3 pick-sixes in last two seasons.

Jones still stinks. Let the excuses fly!

The QBs below him (in no order):

Justin Fields
Jacoby Brissett
Sam Darnold
Will Levis
Bryce Young
Anthony Richardson
Gardner Minshew

They only included 30 QBs and did not include the rookies

Quote from: PSUBeirut on August 22, 2024, 09:57:06 PMWhat are you guys' thoughts on Nabers?  In my leagues I feel like he'll be drafted above his ADP and I'm not sure it's a great bet, with the uncertainty we have at QB and OL.  I think everyone's gonna expect me to draft him this weekend and I'm just not as high on his output this year as I think most are.

I'm in the same camp as you regarding Nabers. Doesn't matter how good the receiver is if the QB is...questionable (either due to health or ability). I think Nabers might get stuck in a similar situation as Drake London last year with Desmond Ridder where limitations at the QB spot hurt his upside.

Mahomes/Love - I think Love is primed for a big year.

Pacheco? Love him and his situation. The rest? It's hard to know which of Mosert/Achane is going to boom each week (and both are not know for durability). Spears is in the same situation with Pollard.

Hill? No comments needed. There's a lot of gambling through the rest of your WR group. Reed, Flowers, and Mclaurin are good players. Reed falls into a mix with the GB WR group that's got no alpha. Rookie WRs? Boom or bust. It takes time for them to ramp up.

Bowers is a beast but will see growing pains. Likely is a backup.

I'm not a big fan of Lamar Jackson as a passing QB but I could be wrong. I'm not sure what's going to happen in Miami as Tua was pretty unimpressive the second half of last year.
