This is an excellent introduction to our FA signings. Like most, I've been disappointed till I'm jaded about the o line rebuild, and I'll believe it when I see it in a few games. Still,  these look like smart pick ups. That's what Accorsi did to build us a dominant o line that gave us 2, nearly three superbowls.

Quote from: LennG on May 20, 2024, 11:44:59 AMLet's try another rule question

Line drive hits off the pitching rubber, goes up in the air, and is caught by the 1st baseman in foul territory.

What's the call?

Hmm. I've always thought the pitching rubber is part of the ground. So in that case my guess would be it's a foul ball. The fact that the fielder caught the rebound is irrelevant since the ball had already touched the ground.

Batter bunts the ball up the 1st base line. He drops his bat and it is in fair territory. The bunt rolls and hits the dropped bat and goes into foul territory.

What do you have on this play?

That's one I don't remember ever seeing before. I know I've seen foul balls hit twice, but only while the batter is still in the box. In that case I think it's still just a foul ball.

But when the ball hits the bat outside the batter's box seems to me like it should be either an immediate dead ball, or possibly some sort of interference. Because what's to prevent the batter from tossing the bat at a ball in play to push it away from a fielder trying to make a play to throw him out. So my guess is it's interference, batter is out.
Probably wrong though.  =))

+1

I'll vouch for "The Front Porch" as well as even less used "Giants History" board which is an outstanding room for history buffs, or a great place to ask a question and let the historians, or folks who lived to see it live, tell you all about it!

Peace!

Oh my goodness, Rich, thankfully you are still with us and that you had taken the precautions of having the watch with a fall alert feature. Admittedly, we take our ability to walk and move around for granted until something happens and we cannot get up after a fall. Your boss is a good friend for coming to assist you.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful physical recovery. But it must have been a traumatic experience to have suddenly been hit by another car. My hope is that your mental and emotional well-being heals as well. I think I speak for all of us here in that we are all in your corner, as friends, and we have your back.

Get well soon!

Peace!

NOTHING comes easy once you get to the semifinals. This is the backbreaker and even the best of teams have fallen off the cliff in this round. You make it here because you DESERVE to be here. This is the "Final Four" of the NHL but in Best of Seven format. If you can survive this round, you've arrived on destiny's doorstep.

It's NOT for the feint of heart - period!

It's going to be tough for the Rangers every bit as tough as it's going to be for the Panthers.

In other words, this is going to be one damn exciting series to watch, with the Western Conference Finals being equally as exciting.

Edmonton vs. Vancouver tonight for the right to play Dallas, tonight! A great series overall and worth watching if you have insomnia on the East Coast!

Peace!

Florida IS a really good team.  So are the Rangers.  This is the conference finals.  nobody should expect it to be easy.

Yes its almost incomprehensible that Bill did not land in another place but who knows

I think the Patriots will falter for a bit until they realize Joe Judge is available to move up to HC.....LOL. NOT!!

Patriot's should have brought Mike Vrable back to be their HC in my opinion but lets see
