I root for three teams every week. The Giants and whoever is playing Dallas and Philly.

Made the "All NFL Defensive Rookie Team"
Hopefully, this situation with Chatman is a similar situation concerning why he wasn't drafted. Maybe we catch lightning in a bottle
Look at his RAS Score Card...almost entirely green (elite) "strength, explosion, and speed", but overall score brought down big time by the red (very poor) because of his size and 3-cone. He's basically a low-to-the-ground wild badger in a trench
Notice Ivan Pace Jr.'s RAS score...you'd think he'd never make a team. Yet he just instinctively understands football and how to disrupt, sniff out the ball, and attack like an angry badger
Moral of the story: there's more to playing football than size and athleticism
Quote from: Philosophers on May 18, 2024, 09:53:45 AMRight but are there other things going in as well? What about drafting a guy who's good for one blocking scheme and not another such as the one you like to run? How about thinking every player who plays on one side can play on the other side?
Giants drafted the 1st or 2nd best WR yet he does not appear on any Fantasy rookies to watch probably because Giants can't pass block and have a QB unwilling to throw downfield more aggressively.
Quote from: MightyGiants on May 18, 2024, 06:53:30 AMThe 2006 was before the 2011 CBA. The owners traded away practice time for more money. As a result there has been a chronic shortage of offensive linemen because there isn't enough time to properly develop them.
Quote from: ozzie on May 17, 2024, 08:47:10 PMHey that's a valid observation.
It is, but IMO most businesses aren't the type where over working someone on little rest may result in serious injury and then claim employee safety is their #1 goal.
Quote from: Ed Vette on May 16, 2024, 04:58:45 PMReally, why?
Quote from: MightyGiants on May 16, 2024, 08:56:38 AMI agree. The first thing I always look for is the bye. Ideally you want that at the middle (or later) in the schedule- check
I look for any killer stretches, I don't see that
Finally (and this is just my preference), I look for a minimum of prime-time games. At three, that's about as low as one can expect as a Giants fan.
Quote from: MightyGiants on May 16, 2024, 08:52:48 AMI suspect there will be less griping about this than there was with Peacock (or even Amazon) owing to the popularity and vastly larger Netflix subscriber base.
