Big Blue Huddle / The Giants 2024-5.
January 08, 2024, 07:33:18 AM
The final game of the 2023-4 season's over. We had a chance to watch some fine play and a Giant win over a faltering team. The Giant quarterback shuffle added interest. But winter has come.

The Giant team we'll see fielded for the season now aborning will be significantly different. Free agency will tear damaging holes in the roster. They will be difficult to fill.

Meanwhile, we can enjoy the hot stove league of speculation and conjecture.

Big Blue Huddle / Giants vs. Saints

An away game for the New Jersey Giants against a solidly mid-level team.

If Mr. Thomas DeVito & Co. come away with something other than a blow-out loss, this armchair observer will consider it a job well done. The Giants aren't ready for prime time yet, but for once, there's hope that's based upon more than wishful thinking.

Big Blue Huddle / Who I wouldn't want to be

A patriot, heading back into the locker room after losing to the Giants . . . and having to face coach Bill Belichick.

Big Blue Huddle / Home field advantage.

The Giants/Jets game was, if I understand the 50 yard line and end zone logos, a home game for the New Jersey Giants. As the New Jersey Jets also play their home games in the same stadium, how was that determined?

Big Blue Huddle / Week 6.
October 12, 2023, 09:11:37 AM
We New Yorkers can, if statistics are any guide at all, look forward to the New Jersey Giants and the New Jersey Jets carving another loss into their record. The scorekeepers will record it and get set for Week 7. There's an appropriate verse from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, by Edward Fitzgerald:

"The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it."

"Nother week in the season as the two teams play out the string.

Regards to all. j
