For me: I like RB Jaylen Wright, TE Theo Johnson, DTs Mekhi Wingo and Brandon Dorlus in 4th round

Carson Steele is an interesting player. He plays RB, but is built like a FB. Made the Freaks list for unreal strength...the downside, has "Hollywood Looks"

6'1" / 230

https://uclabruins.com/sports/football/roster/carson-steele/12740

From The Athletic

"He made the Freaks List last year before having a monster season for Ball State, rushing for 1,556 yards. Not bad for a guy who only had one FBS scholarship offer. The Bruins were elated to get him in the transfer portal. Steele, at 6-1, 233, has wowed his new teammates with his strength. He bench-pressed 450 pounds and squatted 685. His wheels have been impressive too, clocking 20.96 MPH and vertical-jumping 35 inches.

Steele, with his long flowing locks, looks like a fit in Hollywood. He also owns a pet alligator named Crocky-J.

"He's a dawg," says Bruins center Duke Clemens. "He's huge. He's like a bowling ball. I always see him in the weight room doing extra work after we're done with our workouts. You know why he is the way he is. I'm excited for him this year. He definitely can plow some people. You're gonna see that this year."

Dammit.... Sanders was one of the four guys I wanted, and I would have been stoked if we got him.

Oh well - still three guys I really like for us.

Sanders dropped because he's not much of a blocker and insiders think he is smaller than he's listed at, but for the fourth round he's a big time talent. Nice pick by the Panthers. They've added some nice offensive talent in this draft.

A reminder for Day 3 of the draft: Most NFL folks I've talked to believe the quality of the class collapses after Round 4. It's the effect of NIL & the portal, keeping guys in school—just 58 underclassmen declared (was 130 in '21).

Expect scrambling to get targeted guys today.

Quote from: sxdxca38 on April 26, 2024, 12:04:08 AMI saw the Redskins drafted Daniels, I liked him.

Are you referring to something else?

Please explain? thanks

I was referring to a a snapshot they put up on tv pertaining to how many QBs Washington has picked in the past 10 years or so. There were a bunch of them. My point is Jones has had 5 years already as compared to Washington picking QB after QB in the draft.

We know what Jones is. I've heard excuse after excuse for the guy. Time is up. He now has a stud WR and all sorts of other weapons AND his Oline is pretty good. He has to learn from his mistakes - which by evidence of his continuing to take hits instead of throwing the ball away (or sliding) proves it.

He has a higher Y/R and a Lower Y/T than Deebo and a higher Y/R and the same Y/T than Metcalf. His differential between Y/T and Y/R is 6.5 compared to AJ Brown at 5.9. If he's a JAG, it's because the Giants Offense dragged him down. He was the 25th-ranked Receiver out of Auburn for the Receiver Draft Class of 2019 according to CBS.

SI ranked him 15th.

Not a bad investment for a 5th rounder.

Quote from: Trench on Today at 11:59:17 AMI think we may see a return of the traditional fullback in the coming years.

I actually thought about that. Maybe not traditional, but a jack-of-all-trades back who gives you blitz pickup, receiving, and short yardage duties. Sort of a Larry Centers-Tom Rathman hybrid.

My daily public service (that I started researching for my own purposes but figured I'd share), here's the expected time for the Giants' three picks today:

• Pick 107: Around 12:17
• Pick 166: Around 3
• Pick 183: Around 3:45

That's a long wait between the fourth and fifth round picks due to the pick swap with Carolina in the fifth from the Burns trade. No matter what Schoen does today, he gets an A+ as long as he doesn't add a seventh round pick in a trade.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on Today at 11:24:16 AMNot for me, but I understand some fans are disappointed because the offense was so much worse than the D last year and our marquee player acquisition during free agency was defense.

For me, this team has so many needs that apart from trying to get one of the top three QBs at the top of the first round, I didn't want them to be position-driven with their draft approach. I want the best players they can possibly get.

The draft is more like a clearance sale than a supermarket.  You have to grab the guys who are of value at positions of needs.  It's not like you go down the RB aisle and find "second-round RB"
