Title: Question for international travelers and air travel enthusiasts
Post by: Jolly Blue Giant on December 29, 2022, 10:36:17 AM
I've considered a trip to Frankfurt, Germany to do some genealogical research. I checked out the airport at Frankfurt and I am confused. Ever hear of an airport (one of the ten busiest in the world) that does not have runways for planes to takeoff and land?

Interesting airport, but how do the pilots land????  I'm baffled

When I was stationed there the Frankfurt airport had 2 runways. But that was 50 years ago.

Thanks Ed. I found another picture that clearly shows runways. Must be they have an underground shuttle service or something to take you to the terminals that didn't show up in the first pictures I saw
