He was tremendous all game. Kid took a beating and still made big plays throughout. Zero turnovers and just kept his wits about him all afternoon. Very impressive stuff.

The first 2 TDS maybe but Barkley has a few huge runs in the 2nd half on on his 2nd, the final TD drive. Barkley managed an 80 yard game after a goose egg in the 1st half. It is amazing how feast or famine he is with his runs.

If Touchdown Tommy doesn't ball out in the first half, we're still in the running for the top draft spot.
Because he had success, the defense had to respect the passing game and that made things easier for Barkley in the second half.
It's funny that the prevailing theme was that Jones needed Barkley to be successful. TD Tommy carried the team in the first half without Barkley and also got sacked numerous times.
Can't wait for next week to see how he follows this game up.

@T200 Tim, I would need to review the film but I thought they went Under Center in the second half more, brought in a 6th Olineman and went outside Tackle for success in the second half. It helped the passing game and yes, a successful passing game opened up the Run. This team has had success from a balanced attack.

They did design some nice plays this week but Kafka also called plays in the wrong situation because I remember yelling at the TV a few times.
They will need to add more because BB will adjust and disguise coverage to confuse Tommy this week.

Just like every other team, the coaches ask each QB what he likes best about the offense, and DeVito probably named a lot more plays and aspects of the offense which require starting from under center (in other words, those are the plays that give him - mentally, at least - the most confidence on game day.

I'm 100% onboard with that, Bob. As Ed mentioned, they brought in a 6th OL, ran off tackle, and created lanes for 26 to run. Why wasn't that done earlier in the season? If they had trouble with speed guys coming off the edge, the simple counter would be to put an additional blocker out there. Or maybe a 2-back set with Barkley and Breida to give Jones more protection.
That's why I have been calling for Kafka's firing all season. Here's my conspiracy theory: was he setting up Jones for failure??? :-??

I am aware and was when I posted it. I quickly clarified that in this thread after the post too. My posting it was purely for lighthearted/amusement reasons. I would suggest if you want to post stories from fake accounts, you just qualify it as such. I would say maybe 75% of fans are aware that the account is fake. I don't care for the account as there is nothing in the account that makes it clear it's a parody account and as a result, I have seen more than a few fans and even pundits/media people get taken in.
Still, as long as everyone knows it's fake, the humor is certainly welcome.

This is the third time someone posted one of his tweets here and we've discussed it each time. In all fairness to DB, he's on here more than most of us and reads everything. I don't think he posted it because he was duped. This one was especially ridiculous.

Suppose Kafka was telling Daboll all along the stuff that you're posting, and Daboll was not convinced until it was too late? The only way Kafka would be fired if the situation were the opposite, with Daboll telling Kafka all along to emphasize your ideas more and Kafka just plain ignored Daboll. Highly unlikely, IMO.

It's probably far-fetched, I admit. But I cram to understand why the different pass protection strategies for DeVito versus Jones. It's not as if the line was serviceable to start the season and got worse as the season wore on. It was crap to begin with and they did nothing to offer Jones and Taylor more protection. How many times did Saquon go out on a wheel route this season? Who made that play call? Where was it seven weeks ago? Four weeks ago? I don't get it but that falls under the purview of the OC.

seriously. even the announcer said they were calling plays they havent all year. saving the best for last? when we are already dead in the water? thats annoying. they also should have let tommy throw in that first game. he's capable.
Btw, a shoutout to Jonathan Vilma who did a nice job in commentary. It was refreshing to have someone who actually understands the game on the team for a Giants game.
Jones wasn't set up for failure. He missed plays that were there time after time. Kafka didn't forget how to coach. Jones was just that bad.
Touchdown Tommy had a good game, but some of those sacks were because he held the ball too long and Daboll said as much during his press conference. He has a long, long way to go. If the defense / special teams don't get 6 turnovers, the Commies win this game pretty easily. They outgained us and had more first downs.
Nice day for the offense overall though. Wide open guys running free, which is what Daboll's system tries to do. Not exactly a tougher test coming up, but Belicheck is not Ron Rivera.
The kid is a baller... he showed glimpses of his ability in the preseason games and some of us really got excited about him. I even wanted him to be our backup instead of Taylor... our ultra cautious coaches put a tight leash on him and caused us to lose the Jets game!!
I am proud of the kid and hope he can keep improving. With a better line, Receivers getting open more often, this guy can even become a good starter in the league.
I didn't know it was a parody account and don't feel bad about it. X has 528.3 million users. Can't know all of them.
