Go Lions! Sick of same 4 teams every year...
So much for finding all these great backs in the 2nd round/Montgomery drafted like what 11th overall
I'm calling a blowout.
Purdy will throw at least 3 picks, 2 going to the house.
Nice TD by Detroit, game on in San Francisco!
OK Mr. Irrelevant, let's go!

with you
SF not built to come from behind.
Ford Field rocking. We can't get that type of home game noise even when our team is physically in the building.

Mr. McCaffrey would kindly disagree with you.
Peace!
If this were the Giants who just had a Saquon run like McCaffrey had, they would pull him right out for a rest. McCaffrey stays in the game and 2 plays later gets a TD!
It is one of the things I despise about Dabol when he takes guys out immediately after a big play. Like they said about Secretariat, "let him run!"
Ouch, Greenlaw's shoulder. Big loss if he's out the rest of the way.
The first 49ers' stop of the game. Very impressed with the Lions' offensive execution thus far. We've got a great game and this one might have an epic ending when it's all said and done.
Peace!
Looks like Greenlaw's OK with just a stinger.
Glad to see Deebo out there competing. He gives the 49ers' a huge spark.
So far, Purdy looks like a Mr. Irrelevant out there.
With an INT to 👢.
Gibbs, what a hell of a TD run! Amazing!
Detroit's offensive line is dominant.

Again, refs are letting the Olines play!...it's refreshing.....should be like that during season also
Detroit looks more intense and much more physical. Just beating up SF on both sides of the ball.
Green Bay let them off the hook but Detroit looks like they won't.
Lions looking great! Please hold on and win.
No question the Lions own the LoS on both sides of the ball. If they pit a seven on this drive, the game is over.
I think it was a mistake to not take a 3 score lead. May not matter in the end.
SF defense has been awful.
Wow, Niners get off the hook!
A collective "Whew" was just heard out my window from the west; origin: Bay Area, California.
Reynolds needs to catch that but you pick the FG there.
Aiyuk is a very underrated player.
Just like that it's a game. Shanahan again showing his stuff
Poor Vildor on that rebound catch by Aiyuk ... insane!
I mentioned letting them off the hook. A dumb coaching decision on fourth down game a dead team a ton of momentum.
Niners needed that sequence of events, desperately. Deebo is starting to make an impact on offense which is opening up Aiyuk for the big plays.
Let's see if the Lions can keep their composure.
Guess not, 49ers' ball!
Just like that, a new ballgame.
It amazes me special teams players make such dumb mistakes. Gotta believe it's coaching. All that guy had to do was tap the ball backwards instead of trying to handle it
Purdy turned on a switch.
Campbell dumbell move to go for it up 24-10 was the turning point
The Lions are doing some of the most comical things wrong that you'll ever see
It's not over yet

20 straight points by the Niners, Dan Gamble. Really terrible decision has his team on life support.
This has been a pretty stunning reversal in playmaking for both teams.
Meanwhile, Mr. Irrelevant starting to audition for a character in the Super Bowl, with that Houdini escape move, and his fullback with that tippie toes catch, along the sideline, for the first down.
Flea flicker - a Parcells gem!....
But...the announcer says "I think that's a great no call".....the WR was CLEARLY pushed before the ball reached him while running full speed and effected his ability to catch the ball....so I ask, are the refs following the rules as written or do they need to CHANGE the DB rules!!!
Campbell has to learn to just kick the field goal sometimes
Quote from: jgrangers2 on January 28, 2024, 09:25:09 PMCampbell has to learn to just kick the field goal sometimes
Yeah that was a tough one there
Quote from: spiderblue43 on January 28, 2024, 09:09:29 PMCampbell dumbell move to go for it up 24-10 was the turning point
Made no sense at that point.
Someone has gambling problem
What the hell is Dan Gamble doing??? Kick f'n field goals!!!
Does this collapse remind you of the Niners game in 2002? Getting flashbacks.
How did every GM basically miss on Purdy?....truth is it's always a guess. I wish we had this guy on our team
Also, I'm curious if any of our posters wanted him in that draft?
Mr. Irrelevant is now very relevant.
Why in the hell are you going for it on 4th down again???
Wow!
Coach blew it. Completely stupid.
That should do it. Purdy deserves it after that bad break last year. The two best TE's in the SB.
Damn Daniel!!!
A lot of credit to SF. Got punched in the mouth repeatedly for 2.5 quarters and kept their composure, and fought back.
Credit Shanahan for regrouping at halftime but Campbell blew this game.

I agree. Iowa State will now forever be known as an NFL QB producing football program.
Purdy is lighting it up now that the Super Bowl is within reach.
Peace!
I love Campbell and I understand what he's trying to build...but DAMN sometimes you just have to kick the FG.

I don't think Campbell blew it. So they would be down 33-30 if they kicked (and made) both field goals? Assuming a 25 yard touch back on the kickoff-- they gave up a new 15 yards if that in field position.
Although a FG here to tie sounds a lot better than 2 scores. Their D gave up 27 points in the 2nd half

Well said, Ed!
Peace!
Everyone who took Detroit and the points just breathed a sigh of relief.
Campbell absolutely didn't blow it. If anyone did, it was Josh Reynolds.
I have to give a lot of credit to Dan Campbell and his team for a great season where they represented themselves well in the playoffs.
This loss is going to hurt, but they fought the eventual NFC Champs hard for a solid half and change before the momentum switched over and they just couldn't get it back.
They're trying to get the first of two scores now so let's see them fight to the end.
Campbell blew it. This game is going to OT if he chooses to kick one FG.
Quote from: katkavage on January 28, 2024, 09:42:59 PMEveryone who took Detroit and the points just breathed a sigh of relief.
I was just thinking that. Consolation prize for Lions faithful..
They went for it, and were lucky they got it. They need two scores so a FG would have done the trick as well.
But a ballsy call which worked out. Now, just get the onside kick and anything can happen.
Reynolds dropped 2 key passes, Vildor missed the INT, Campbell passed on 2 FG attempts.
Detroit should have won this game. It's on the coach to make the right calls to preserve the lead. No reason to go for it on 4th down up 24-10.
Asich as I was rooting for Detroit an Campbell he has to kick a FG in that spot. This is the championship game to go to the Superbowl you just have to kick the FG then. If nothing else than to give your offense a boost. And how can you call a running play at the goal line?
This loss is on the coaching staff
Everything went wrong for Detroit. The momentum swung and that was that.
