I'll say having a 1st team all-pro CB helps allow for this type of strategy. Deebo was pretty quiet.

Brilliant strategy! Deebo is the turbo for the 49ers. Take him out of the game and they're just not the same explosive team.
Negating George Kittle, as well, also had a tremendous impact.
The other side of the coin, both cane into the game banged up and sustained further injury during the game which limited their capability.
Kick 'em while they're down, why not? It proved effective as McCaffrey and Purdy, with a reduced arsenal, made the situation far easier for Spags to manage.
Just an outstanding defensive coordinator and I'm grateful he was able to help deliver Super Bowl XLII to Giants fans. He will always be admired and revered by us for that.
Peace!

Rich: The strategy makes perfect sense. In playoff games & Super Bowls, it is rare for the inferior QB to win. Bob
