If the Bears are going to draft Caleb Williams, which is what everyone believes, why would Joe Schoen be at USC?
Well, first off, there are other players participating today. But, he's not going to travel to L.A. with free agency ongoing and other Pro Days coming, to check out other positions.
It's a useful part of the evaluation for the other QBs to see Caleb and then compare/contrast.
Also, if Caleb ends up on the market down the line, Schoen and Giants have a base line from when he was entering the draft.
Finally, if something crazy happens on draft night, NYG have a complete "just in case" eval.

Long flight to LA if you have anything less than serious interest or a genuine belief that you somehow have even a slight shot at getting him.
