This is insane. Lawrence is 20-30 as the Jags' starter, and he has an 85 rating so far. His career high in TD passes in a single season is only one more than Daniel Jones' career high. His postseason numbers so far are woeful too, and he only has one playoff win.
Also he has only paid three years. Why did this have to happen now? He has not had a Mahomes, Burrow, or Allen type start. I would have waited. I know sometimes these teams get bullied by the agents, but there is no way this guy has shown he deserves to be the highest paid QB in the league. At least Goff has won some big games in postseason play in multiple seasons on two different teams.
This is a crazy list
I mean at least D Jones won a playoff game
Mahomes at 45 million is a bargin it looks like

I think they are treating it as a gamble that he gets significantly better, and this contract ends up being cheap when his deal actually comes up.
It's the position, folks. 'Nuff said.
9 guys make more or the same as Mahomes and he has more Lombardis than all of them combined.
The reason why Patrick Mahomes deal is so much lower, is because he signed a ten-year contract, so the Chiefs are getting a bargain as the years progress.
As far as Trevor Lawrence goes, if you're a top 15 QB the price is at a premium, because it's hard to even find a top 15 guy.
Personally, if I was a player I would think it's a bit unfair that a QB makes so much more than any other position, because without the other players, OL, WR, TE, and RB, no QB can succeed.

People justified Jones' contract that way. I just don't think you can hand out this kind of money to someone who has never demonstrated he is elite. He is now literally the highest paid player in the league, and he's never played at close to an elite level. I think it's nuts myself. I'd rather pay $2-$4mm a year more next year if he shows himself to be elite in year four than hand him a $200mm guarantee when I have never seen him play at a very high level.
Trent Balke seems like a wild GM. He made Christian Kirk one of the highest paid receivers in football. Guy is average.
I'd rather build my own QB. These guys are for the most part over-paid
Bad for football in general. Too much of the pie going to one position when football is a team game.
Yes Mahommes has pulled some rabbits out of his hat as did Brady but they are the exception not the rule
Look at Brock Purdy....paying them big money does not equate to a Lombardy in general.
