Old, now injury prone, and in my opinion vastly overrated he has done the Yankees a HUGE favor in doing this. Add in the fact he no longer goes deep into games makes him just a good pitcher, not some franchise ace who is invaluable.
Time to turn the page and start developing pitching in this franchise. Of course Cashman just gave away the farm for a 1 year rental. But still it is time.
Definitely showing signs of slowing down, but it would hurt to lose both him and then also lose Soto to the Mets. If that happens the team will be a shell of its 2024 self.
