NGT: WEEZE HAS PASSED
LAST NIGHT, while in his sleep, John Woessner, aka WEEZE passed peacefully in his sleep, from extreme small cell cancer, my wife and I have been here with him for a month or so, taking care of him, keeping him as painfree as possible
We watched football together yesterday, with him dozing and taking his meds.
go big blue
I'm so sad that he had to suffer so much. He was a good man. You're a good friend Drake. He was blessed to have you and your wife to help him transition.
Godspeed Weeze.
Rest In Peace, John :'(

Horrible disease but to watch football and die peacefully in sleep. God bless him and you and your wife.
God bless you and your wife for being there for him,
@drakew @weeze Rest easy bro.
Sorry for your loss Drake. R.I.P. John. It was a pleasure that I got the chance to meet you.
This is sad news. RIP my friend.
For those who may have missed it, John shared with us his grim prognosis (with his usual grade and class):

RIP John.
Drake, a guy can only wish for a friend like you. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh wow. He was a wonderful poster.
Prayers for his family and friends.
Oh wow. So sad. I really enjoyed his personality. Fun. RIP Weezy.
Incredibly sad news. I remember reading Weeze's posts all the way back on the old MOTM forum, and he always struck me as an incredibly kind gentleman, much like Gabe, Bob from PA and Dumpster Dan.
Two other things that struck me while reading this:
1. We should all hope to demonstrate the same grace and courage as Weeze
2. We should all hope to have someone as selfless as Drake in our lives.
RIP Weeze
Your humor, laughter and kindness will always be remembered.
You are often thought of and your name comes up regularly when we gather around and play the Ms. PacMan machine you sent us
You will be missed.
A solid man, great giant fan and friend
Drake - I am really glad to hear you were with him...
Thanks for posting this Drake. Some of us, who got to know and meet John, just know what a wonderful person he truly was, and for you and your wife, God Bless You both for showing people what a true friend is.
On a personal note, John will now be with the Golden Hoofer, watching Giants games together. They both will always watch over you and only you know what I mean.
Ed
I hope you don't mind me putting this pic up so everyone can see John in happier times.

John is on the right
RIP Weeze. He was always there to keep the game day chat room alive and at times we were the only 2 people in the room. This was the first season I stopped checking out the chat room. :'(
Sad news. May John rest in peace. Drake what you and your wife did in the Jewish tradition is a HUGE mitzvah. A good deed times 10. Bless you and your wife for doing it.
Even though we all knew this was inevitable it's extremely sad to hear this news. I'll miss the Weeze. John's posts here were often times insightful, and often times prickly, but I loved them all just the same. No one could ever doubt his love of the Giants. Quite a while back he and I traded a bunch of emails, and even talked on the phone once or twice, he always made me smile. And I also remember him once giving me holy hell for not stopping by when I was visiting an old friend who lives just a few miles from Casa de Weeze. I should have made the time. I will miss his cutting wit and his incredible love of the NY Giants.
Drake, thank you to you and your wife for being there for him in his final days. That is the very definition of true friendship. I'm sorry for your loss.
Rest easy Weeze. So sad to hear. Thanks for sharing Drake
RIP sir

A tru blu fan, and friend, by any other measure 💙.
Another of our original core members has finally moved on to a better place, reunited with the original "inimitable one," himself, the legendary Gabes, Mojo40, Christopher Allen and so many of our beloved friends from this forum.
God bless you, Drake and your wife, for being there for Jon in his final days. Weeze has always been our lovable character here, and was among the first folks I struck a friendship with when I originally joined the old BBWC board.
It pains me to learn the "evil C-word" has taken yet another life from us, and I continue to pray for the date to come when cancer can and will be defeated.
Rest in peace now, old pal Jon (forever "The Weeze")
Sad to hear about Weeze. He was always someone here who never took this stuff too seriously. He will be missed.
Very sad news. May his memory be a blessing.

RIP Weeze.
I remember meeting Weeze for the first time in Albany at a Giants training camp and immediately took a liking to him. He had that personality that could feel at home in his presence. And Drake what a great friend and a great human being. You are to be commended. =D> =D> =D> =D>
Thanks to all of our MOTM members, bar-b-que attenders, and friends of the Port Charlotte blue screamer, the last day we watched games together, football to the end...thanks, guys
How sad. What a great guy. John actually grew up about a mile from my childhood home. He lived nearby Meacham Field/Fire Station 18 in the Valley area of Syracuse NY. I didn't know him back then as he was maybe six years older than I. We often reminisced about the Valley, Syracuse Orange sports, so much more. Going to miss you, Weezer. No doubt about that, my friend. Love ya, man.
