Wow!

I don't see a single player that I would be sad to lose.

Of the unrestricted these are who I want back. None will break the bank. You need ditch diggers too.

I get they are not going to let everyone walk, but I also do not see a single player I would be upset to see go.

aren't some of these guys already gone?  McCloud went to the niners.  Didn't some just get cut?

Than said, you can't start over with UDFA's and camp bodies.  IMO we have some decent players but until we fix the OL and get a better defensive scheme, it's a treadmill.  Note how much better the D looked vs. Philly when we threw a blitz at them every so often.  Since Dabs is back, maybe we need a new DC.

I didn't notice it, I must have pulled an older list before the Giants released McCloud

Yeah, it's a cellar dweller roster - that's for sure.

These are the only guys I would even consider, in the case of any ERFAs, they are merely cheap at positions where depth is needed and their jobs and roster spots are nowhere close to guaranteed.

I watched Tomon Fox miss a few tackles yesterday and I think we can go better at backup linebacker.
Hodgins is an 8 week wonder. I doubt he is invited back on whatever the league minimum is.
I'd be OK with Ojulari at backup money. He knows the system.

I don't disagree, the ERFA tender is why id bring him back for now, just to have some depth for the offseason programs.

Folks here wonder WHY this team topped out at 3-14? Can we say TALENT UPGRADE OVERDUE???

Peace!

Same, Andrew.  Pinnock is the only player I would consider retaining.  The good news is - our best players were rookies and should get better next season.

This is a trap we all fall into, the "they are rookies so they will get better" trap.

Did KT get better?  Neal?  Banks?  Flott?  Robinson (well at least he got healthy)?  Bellinger?  JMS?  Hyatt? Ezeudu?  Gray?

The thing is, rookies making a second-year jump are actually far more infrequent than most of us (myself included) assume.  In fact, probably just as many will regress.

I think the lack of Offensive Linemen and RBs on this list is telling. They invested heavily in that in free agency with 2-year deals or more knowing if Daniel Jones didn't work out, they would be in pretty good shape going into 2025-2026 with a new QB.

Guess we shouldn't be expecting any comp picks in 2026

The Giants have roughly $40 million in cap space.  They are far more likely to be signing more players than they lose.

Yes. It's not easy building a team. You think you've plugged one hole and suddenly two more holes spring open.

This is reminiscent of the reviews of the 2018 draft after 1 year. I just did a quick Google search to refresh my memory and the reviews of the 2018 rookie class were VERY complimentary toward Dave Gettleman. Here's how PFF described that rookie class...

The 2018 draft class performed very well. As a draft class, they ranked second in our PFF WAR metric, and Saquon Barkley, Will Hernandez, Lorenzo Carter & B.J. Hill all finished in the top five rookies at their respective positions.

Well my point was that none of those free agents is going to be worth a big contract that would enter the comp pick formula.

Giants are middle of the pack in terms of cap space.  Not great considering their record for the last two years.

No it's not - its an incredibly poor comparison.  None of the players listed had remotely close to the early success as Nabers and Taylor, who literally set records.  Phillips also had a wonderful rookie campaign.  I must of missed the records set by the players listed.  With the exception of KT, all of those players had meh to poor rookie seasons.  Why would you expect them to get better the following season?   On that point I agree; you should never assume a player is going to get better...and I NEVER do.  However, these players have already proven to be good...even if they just sustain thier protection, it's still far better than average.
