"Hope. It is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and greatest weakness." (from one of The Matrix movies if memory serves)
It is certainly true for sports fans. In our case hope will presumably be personified in the flawed human form of one, other or both of a veteran QB and/or a rookie QB.
Reading the various messages on here I think a fair few of us might be beyond hope but it is likely most of us will manage to talk ourselves into a fresh triumph of hope over realistic expectation.
So, in the spirit of deluded hope I hereby welcome whichever one or more of Aaron Rodgers/Kirk Cousins/Russell Wilson/Sam Darnold/Marcus Mariota/Jameis Winston/Justin Fields/Cam Ward/Shedeur Sanders/Jaxson Dart/Jalen Milroe/Tyler Shough/Kyle McCord/Will Howard or whoever is going to ride to the rescue and bring us back to relevance!

If the offensive line DOES NOT get fixed, no amount of hope, as it pertains to a new quarterback, will help this team in the coming season, nor future seasons.
Fix the damned offensive line and, then, we can talk about hope.
BTW, Kelvin Banks Jr. was looking pretty good at the combines this weekend.
Peace!
How much of the line problem was our QB
I think after the talent infusion from free agency and the draft is complete, the "hope" level will rise significantly

k-man: How many free agent OL's and/or draftees at OL do you think we should aim for?
My answer is one very good one in free agency and as many as match our big board, which means, for example, in round 3 is there is a round 3 guy on our big board we take him. Same for each of the later rounds. I suppose the maximum should be three draftees, after which I would quit.
The above assumes neither of our first two picks are OLs.

Hi
@Bob In PA .
I remain, not sure how best to articulate this, somewhere between "lacking in confidence" and "very concerned" regarding Andrew Thomas and his chances for returning and contributing in a manner commensurate with his salary, All Pro capability and leadership after all the injuries he has sustained. Because of that, I am almost willing to draft his replacement if it weren't for the fact the team has this QB dilemma as well as a shortage in overall talent.
"IF" (NOTE: that's a very big if) the Giants could pull off a pick swap that would allow them to drop into the lower part of the top 10, I would seriously consider picking an offensive left tackle or left guard, with the knowledge I just picked up draft capital to further build the line and address other areas of my team.
If I pull off the scenario above, I leave Round two alone, when it comes to the O-Line, but I go back to work in Round four. In the end, I'm grabbing a minimum of two offensive linemen and, at a bare minimum, one will be a left tackle and the other a guard who is flexible and can fill in at center.
I'm also adding at least one or two linemen, preferably guards, via free agency.
So, that makes a total of four new lineman with the expectation that I'll have a minimum of two of them ready to plug and play, a third ready to play in situational conditions and eventually gain more playing time, while the fourth is a development project that can be used on special teams and a few offensive packages as they get acclimated to the pro game.
Four is not unreasonable and the Giants need to keep doing this every season for about another two more years and I think we'll have the line finally where it needs to be.
That is MY hope, anyway.
Peace!
We all have the right to feel as we wish which includes that of little or no hope. However, in such case, incessant bitching and moaning, whining and wailing whether or not accompanied by bashing and trashing sails pretty close to self-indulgence with a whisper of "Poor Me" for emphasis. N'est-ce pas?
Cheers!

Or not,
