Title: Over The Cap gives the likely cost of NYG moving up in the draft
Post by: MightyGiants on March 03, 2025, 12:33:42 PM
They looked at the premium (using a draft value chart) the team trading up pays (in this case an extra 3000 points)

QuoteSo what might it cost the Giants to move up to the top pick this year? They hold the 3rd overall pick which is a big help. To get to that 3,000 point premium you would probably be looking at giving up the 3rd overall pick and 34th overall pick in this years draft along with next year's 1st round pick and  3rd round pick. If they did not want to part with this year's 2nd rounder they would probably have to include this years 3rd round pick, this years 4th round pick and then a 2nd rounder in 2027. I don't think the Giants have a player on the team that the Titans would look at as a benefit in a trade the way Moore was by Chicago.

This is what you get when you retain a FO while at the same time telling them they're on borrowed time.

Rich: A major league price, unless they see (repeating myself) "The Next Lawrence Taylor" in Abdul Carter (I do not - it's a virtually unattainable comparison to meet) or "The Next Darrelle Revis" in Travis Hunter (I see it clearly... and he can also play some offense, which certainly can't hurt). Bob - the next Revis is Will Johnson not Hunter.  Watch Johnson's play against Ohio State's WRs the past 2 years.

Phil: I (and maybe you too) probably think more of Will Johnson than many here (in as few words as possible, IMO many others think he's very good but nothing EXTRA-special...but 1st-round material nevertheless). Bob

You only need to look at what Accorsi gave up to get Eli.
