Sam Darnold has agreed to terms with the Seahawks, per source.

The top free agent quarterback available, Darnold gets the three-year deal he sought and heads to Seattle after a career year in Minnesota.

That leaves Rodgers to Vikings or Steelers.

Tom Pelissero
@TomPelissero
Geno Smith turned down a similar deal in Seattle. The #Seahawks ended up trading him to Las Vegas, picked up a third-round draft pick and now land the top QB in free agency. A new No. 14 in Seattle.

Seahawks did well there.

That's a really nice deal for a Vet QB who's only had one good season in his career.

Yep- the carousel will screech to a halt and whoever is left on will fall off, break their ankle, and sign with our G-men.  All while the Titans work to build their OL in free agency to prepare for the coming of Cam Ward.  I hate to be fatalistic, but this is about as bad as the QB outlook could be for us next year.

Fields is a JET...the dominoes keep falling!

Next year was always going to be a development year. Nothing changes for the Giants at all based on these vet signings. They weren't going to be a competitive team with Rodgers, juts like they won't be a competitive team with Mariota or Winston.

They need to draft BPA every round and hope for another home run draft - including a QB in round 4 to develop. And then they can go after a 1st round QB the following year in a much deeper QB class.

Why is everyone discounting Jones as their possible starter?

With Fields now gone and Jimmy Garoppolo staying in LA, our vet QB options are dwindling.

Keeping in mind that the Jets haven't released Rodgers yet. Can teams actually announce the intention to sign him?
