What the hell is that gonna do? He's no better than what we have, which outside of Dexi, is a lot of mediocrity. Waste of cap $$$!

I couldn't agree more. This guy is a couple steps up from camp fodder for that $$

What's the guaranteed dollars? That's what really matters.
The guy is just depth, it's a depth signing not a starter.

It's a waste of $10M is what it is.
A depth signing. Good DT draft coming..so hold on.

He just came off of a 3yr 21 million dollar contract and we are giving him 4.2 million a year, of which likely only a million or 2 is guaranteed. It's a nothing deal, for depth. Nunez roches is virtually making the same amount. 4 million is basically nothing for dline depth.
We need a new starter (draft) and better depth. RRH provides the latter. It is a relatively cheap deal for a proven guy who will contribute in a 5 DT rotation. We do not have unlimited $ and most of them are going CB and presumably QB unless we strike out on both AR and Wilson (possible).
We need real starters and to force last year's starters to bench for depth.

I get that. But it's a role that could be filled by a 5th rounder at a fraction of the cost. While that money could then go to one of the other dozen holes this team has to fill.
Our current starters really should be our depth. Now we have more depth and only one real starter. Sort of a bad situation.

This.
We are in need of higher-end talent a lot more than our need for mediocre depth.
The wrong side of 30 for that position.
