Why? He plays LT strictly, and the commanders gave up a 2nd, 3rd, and a 4th. So basically give up our whole draft for a LT?

Because I want my GM inquiring about all players. Maybe we could get him and either he or Thomas moves. Or we trade him or Thomas for picks as well

I just feel we are rarely in the game with Schoen

Hefty price. But if they can afford it...

Not necessarily since our picks are worth a lot more than Washington's picks. Our 2nd is worth more than their 2, 3, and 4. I wouldn't look to make this trade (unless I thought AT wasn't coming back) but your characterization is just not accurate.

Then it would have cost Schoen a third and a 5th?

That's what the commanders gave up, and we don't know if we would have to pay the same or more, maybe tunsil demanded to be traded to a contender. Too many variables to know otherwise, we'd still be giving up significant day 2/3 picks regardless for a position we have already paid significant money too.

We don't know, which is why your comment about trading our entire draft was incorrect. Our picks are worth more, bottom line.

I think that puts you in the conversation but might need another pick as a sweetener. From what I understand 2 of Washington's picks are for next year, so that usually includes a discount in value.

So he was within reach...

When you have an elite young quarterback you've got to protect him. IHMO was the single biggest screw up by Gettleman. You don't waste the 8th pick in the draft and then don't do anything to give him a chance to succeed.
