I thought Ramses Barden was the coolest name for a TE and he flopped hard.
Former superbowl champion Guy Whimper!
I remember I think it was Will Beatty had to keep talking about coming back from an injury.
He kept ranting "THATS WHY GUY WHIMPER IS HERE!" I loved it. Guy Whimper even played a bit of tight end
had a decent career. Great name.
Now we have a QB with possibly the best last name for his position

Canadian singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn has an album titled "Dart to the Heart." File that one away for a couple years. It's going to make for a great headline when the Giants knock the Eagles out of the playoffs.

This could go south in a hurry, but as a genealogist for the last half century and studying thousands of names, let me tell you that people with the last name "Fox", was not always fox...Babcock, did not always have that second letter "b" in it, but a "d"...most people with the last name Kotex changed it to Kotek or something similar, and Longfellow didn't always me "tall man". I once called on a buyer in upstate whose last name was Goodhead. Why he never changed it is beyond me...or who knows, maybe he changed it to that, :-?? lol
Some might suggest that all football player's names are fine, although Toomer was pushing it a bit, and it should stay that way as long as no one named Trump is ever drafted out of Mar A Lardass.
Barf! Sorry, I meant Cheers!

Had a best friend named Donald Glover and went by Don. People used to say his name really fast intentionally to say Dong Lover. He was a multi sport athlete and the Dong Lover was in the newspaper quite often.
=)) =)) =)) =))
I love this thread

Nicknames in H.S. could really, really go south. Nothing more cruel than a school kid who tags a kid with a nickname because of the way it sounds (when changing their name ever so slightly) or an unusual face or some idiosycrosy in a kid's looks. I remember one kid who had a big jowl and a smaller skull cap that was unusually small for his face, and everyone called him "Congo"...and God help a kid named Schitz, or Koontz. I knew an old feller who long passed away whose last name was "Hole" and his first name, Richard. And of course, the most common nickname for Richard before the emergence of Ricky Nelson, was "Dick". He came home from school one day crying because kids made fun of his name, Dick Hole. So his mother had their last name legally changed to "Hoal", but it didn't really solve the problem. Always remember this stuff when you name your kid (if your much younger than me) or your kids are naming theirs...even initials can be a source of ridicule. I remember when my daughter Rebekah Jean (who we always - and still do - call her Bekah) came home in second grade and said, "Dad, I have a great idea, I want my nickname to be BJ for Bekah Jean". I said "no way in hell are you going to call yourself that"And of course, "but why Dad?" leading to other father daughter talks no one wants to get into...lol. I remember my kid brother (about 6 or 7) asking my mother what certain words were that he heard on the bus. So she explained while he had a look of horror on his face. She told him it's what married people do. He responded with, "do you have to?". And my own son who wouldn't stop asking me questions like that so I said, "I'll tell you but you can't tell your friends, it's just between us". So I was pretty detailed, because he wanted to know more and more. Uncomfortable as all get out. When he heard enough, he asked me, "Dad, can I tell my girlfriend when I'm in college someday"...and I said, "you sure can"...lol

And with a name like Dart he doesn't need to worry about getting saddled with a ridiculous nickname like Daniel "Danny Domes" Jones did.

Cool guys like him dont get nicknames because they dont need it. When he's been around a few years other guys will call him Captain or some cool one word title.
The only nickname I want to see in front of his name is Champion Dart

Wow, each one dumber than the one before.
That play might have been the one play when this team started to believe they might be able to make some noise in the playoffs.
Or maybe that is when I started to believe  .

One of my favorite sports related shirts I've ever seen was when I was in Chicago about 15 years ago and went to a game at Wrigley. We walked around outside and saw a shirt that said "The Cardinals take it in their Pujols".
