Title: NGT- College Football 2025
Post by: Jclayton92 on May 22, 2025, 09:13:56 PM
I've been wanting to do one of these here for a while. I know some here don't do college football, while a few of us are diehards. With this thread now you can peak in and read about a few the big named guys that you'll hear come draft time. Anything college football whether it's top 25 rankings, prospect rankings or news.

Huge story just dropped.

The college football playoff will move to a straight seeding model meaning the top 4 teams get byes and the top 12 teams get in the dance. No gimmies for winning conference championships and no group of 5 auto bids.

Top 100 Consensus Big Board 2026 Draft

Top player at each position:

QB Lanorris Sellers South Carolina
Honorable mentions
Arch Manning Texas
Cade Klubnick Clemson
Garrett Nussmeier LSU

RB Jeremiyah Love Notre Dame
Honorable mention
Nicholas Singleton Penn St

WR Carnell Tate Ohio St
Honorable Mentions
Eric Singleton Jr Auburn
Evan Stewart Oregon

TE Eli Stower Vanderbilt
 Kenyon Sadiq Oregon

T Kayden Proctor Alabama
Honorable Mentions
Francis Maiguoa Miami
Spencer Fano Utah
Isaiah World Oregon

G Jake Slaughter Florida
Honorable Mention
Caden Green Missouri

DT Peter Woods Clemson

Edge TJ Parker Clemson
Honorable Mentions
Tyreak Sapp Florida

MLB Subtarine Perkins Ole Miss
Honorable Mention
Anthony Hill Texas

CB Malik Muhammad Texas
Honorable Mentions
Avieon Terrell Clemson
AJ Harris Penn St

S Caleb Downs Ohio St
Keon Sabb Alabama
Kamari Ramsey USC

This class is Defensive heavy again with about a half dozen Qb prospects that will go early. Similar to Hunter and Carter this past draft, there are some elite talents. Scouts are over the moon about TJ Parker, Peter Woods, and Caleb Downs. The 2026 draft isn't deep at RB, but the top 2 guys are elite, people are talking about Jeremiyah Love like he's Saquan Barkley.  The skills are still down this year unless someone breaks out, still a year away from the elite elite wrs being draft eligible. There is one elite TE in Stowers. Ton of olinemen, and edge... just not the excess of skills that we will likely be searching for.

I would love to get Francis Maiguoa Miami. A true RT. Pair him with Andrew Thomas. Nice set of bookends

if/when Smith, the soph WR from OSU comes out, he could go #1.  Can a player enter the draft after two years?

So what's the consensus?

Does Arch come out in '26 or does he wait till '27?

Arch has no track record to date except some random moments.  Leaving after 1 year would be a mistake IMHO.  1 year longer and he'd still be young.

Does that mean you think he's an elite Qb or a bad Qb?

The picture is a consensus of all the mocks as of right now. It's likely way off to were we'll be come next offseason.

I think he is WAY overrated.  He has gotten marginally better each year but no leap.  For a 5-Star, when you don't see that leap, well, I don't see it.  He had 2 fantastic RBs and an all world TE, not to mention a real good offensive line and the narrative out there is "he had no WRs" - well, in college, with other weapons he had (to go with elite D and mostly awesome protection) he should have been elite.  Instead, he was not.  So, not impressed

They have to be in college 3 years, but Smith and Ryan Williams will be two top 5 prospects that happen to play Wr in 2027 if they declare.

Agreed, as a PSU fan.  While it is true our WR's have been terrible, Allar just has not been as accurate or consistent as he should be against top-quality opponents.  He's going to have to show me a lot more in that regard if he wants to be in the top 3-4 QBs in the draft next year, let alone QB1.  I love his size, I love how he runs when he needs to, I love his determination and passion for the game.  I just don't love his inconsistency and accuracy at this point.  No excuses this year- he should have the guys around him to shine when the lights shine brightest, we'll see what he does with it.

With Aller, he has that wow size, mobility, looks the part. Actually has the profile of a guy the Giants would be interested in. I wasn't impressed with his play at all. Penn st is such an odd duck, they have insane talent and their coach sucks. Not sure if he can lift his team on his own. He will likely be a first round pick on physical attributes alone imho.
