Title: Should I create a passkey for my Google account?
Post by: squibber on June 13, 2025, 08:59:06 AM
I'm thinking about creating a passkey for my Google account and some third party apps. Some say passwords are not that safe anymore. Anyone use a passkey and like it?

I created a passkey and it has screwed up my computer beyond belief. I've spent have the day trying to get rid of it, but everything from Amazon to GMail to games I like, stop me and the passkey I made doesn't work. Even this site logs me out if I go away for a few minutes. Passkey sucks, sucks, sucks  :angryfire:

Passwords, and the need to have 4 million of them, all with 8 different rules about capital and lower case letters, number, special symbols, can't be any of your last 10 passwords, etc), even for incredibly low risk stuff like my gym membership, feel so beyond antiquated now. Everything should be biometric at this point. I can't believe they haven't been made completely obsolete by now.

Ric, Sorry about that. I feel bad for bringing up this topic.
