"We all have full belief and faith in DJ," said Hyatt. "I'm not worried about him at all. It's one week, we all forget that he's coming off an ACL. This was his first time really in action (after the injury) and seeing it at that speed. We have full faith in him. He'll get better and we'll get better for him."

Big Blue Huddle / NFT: New Thread vs Existing Thread posts
September 12, 2024, 01:26:33 PM
If your post would work well within the discussion of a front-page Thread, it would be best not to fragment a similar discussion. When JimV was a Moderator, he brought this up a few times. Often this happens on Gameday diatribes, and it carries over to the next day.

And not to stifle discussion and content, if there is an isolated discussion that is worthwhile having its own thread, then of course do that.

True and I also know that Richardson is a freak of nature and DJ can't do what he can, but there are ways to accomplish this.

If you get a chance, take a look at least at the highlights and all the down-the-field passing attacks they employed. Anthony Richardson was far from perfect but 9 passes for 212 yards show how to attack downfield. Yes, he threw a 70-yard Post for a TD but there were also YAC on a few. I think that if the Oline film shows how well the protection held up for their first game, I'd like to see DJ hang in and take his shots. Daboll has to scheme them open.

Quote from: TDToomer on September 12, 2024, 11:49:32 AMWell I was waiting for a mod to reply. Now how about addressing my suggestions.
I would agree with DJ threads that were all about bitching sessions, but if there is a nuance and it presents a worthwhile discussion, then it's appropriate for the new thread. It's not the fault of the OP if some go off-topic, but if you see, Rich then attempted to reign it in.

The problem I've found restricting an "In Season" DJ thread is that it's difficult to follow the discussion in a melting pot. I do however appreciate your concern for the site. That means something to me. Thank you.

Let me answer before Toomer sees yet another DJ thread and loses his fucking mind.

I mentioned two things that perhaps you didn't see. One is they changed his stance in the shotgun and UC. He used to lead with his right foot forward, so when he took the snap, he could drop his right foot back in his step drop and he would be set for either a bounce back or a three set drop and have his base set. Now he has both feet parallel to the LOS and believe it or not, it complicates the setup of his feet.

Next thing is he moved into the interior pass rush when he had a clean pocket. It brought him closer to the defender to get his arm hit and it obscures the field of vision, so he has to alter the angle of his throw. It also shows where he intends to go with the ball if he slides left from a clean pocket. This is something that a rookie in Drake Maye is doing and with his experience he should know better.

I'm not a fan of having a QB Coach who was never a QB in at least the college level. Tierney has failed Daniel Jones for two years now and although he's a good man, they need a QB Guru to snap Jones out of this funk. ASAP

Yes, I'm just a fan, but I've spent extensive time educating myself on the QB position over the last 22 years.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: The running game
September 11, 2024, 09:49:21 AM
Run the ball at least 38% of the time and not 26%, and yes I know they were behind early but stick with Singletary and only spell him for a rest, so he can get in a rhythm. He averaged 3.7 YPC on just 10 snaps with some poor blocking and some good blocking, but the Oline needs to get in a rhythm too. He was in one series and then they trot in Gray, and then Tracy. 10 snaps to your primary back is pathetic. Even if you lose a series or two running, it sets up the game for later.

Still whining? The great Aaron Rodgers looked rusty too after a year off. Bo Nix had the worst game in years. Welcome to the show.

If he has a repeat performance against Washington, then it's time for a move.

Then I want to see either a 21 or a 20 Personnel Group in that situation. The 22 and 13 should be unnecessary except for certain goal-line situations.

Also mentioned was Slayton has a concussion. Let's hope Jalin gets more than one target this week.
