As mentioned earlier Pet Sematary and The Exorcist both had the potential to traumatize me. However, I read both books prior to seeing the movies and they left more of an impression on me than the movies did.

Thanks Ozzie, sounds like something I'd like. I'll check it out after I finish watching The Valhalla Murders, an 8 episode series produced and filmed in Iceland. I watched the first episode last night.

Gee Ric, I thought I was the only person on the planet that hasn't seen The Godfather.

I'm really getting into watching these Netflix short series, (or what we used to call miniseries). I just wrapped up a Swedish series (dubbed in English), called "A Nearly Normal Family."

Only six episodes, it wraps up neatly, and then it's on to the next one.

There may or may not be a very valid reason those trades didn't take place. We, of course, aren't privy to such information. I suppose it's possible Schoen tried to move McKinney but the offer(s) didn't meet his expectations. Or maybe he wants X as a core member of the defense going forward, and plans to use any means possible to extend him. Who knows....
Once the chips fall we'll have a better idea.

I've seen a few of the cult classics listed but never Rocky Horror. I'm certainly aware of its cult status though. I was really never a fan of the slasher genre, and the older I get the even less I would consider watching anything with excessive violence. The one movie I have seen from the list is Eraserhead. I came away from that one saying to myself, "what the bloody f$#k?!?!?!?!?"

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Anyone want Pugh back?
February 18, 2024, 05:10:07 PM
I like Pugh and appreciated his willingness to get off the couch and try to help the Giants. While he may have been a good teammate and possibly a mentor to the younger guys, I just don't think he's got enough in the tank to be a benefit. If the Giants are to improve, especially along the O-Line they have to bring in better players with more upside.

What do you mean by 'breakers'?
The list of 36 words in Ric's opening post.
#145
All depends on your opening word(s), wouldn't it? For instance, I sacrifice two opening words to begin the game. And looking through this list of 36 streak breakers I see for most of them I'd have at least three letters, (not all of them in the correct places), before I even have to think. Of course that doesn't guarantee I'd solve them but obviously helps.

Using my opening two words on the "breakers" gives me
3 letters - 25x
4 letters - 14x
5 letters - 2x

And I just finished watching yet another Netflix short series, the six episode first season of The Tourist, set in Australia. Driving across the Outback, an Irishman is suddenly being chased by some guy wearing a cowboy hat and driving an 18 wheeler. After an on-road and off-road chase they eventually collide and the Irishman is left for dead. He eventually wakes up in a hospital with absolutely no memory of who he is or why he's in Australia, and more importantly, why someone apparently wants him dead. I enjoyed it. Season 2 drops on Netflix on February 29th.

This video shows up on this board every year, as it should. I remember the game, I remember the hit. If that doesn't get your juices flowing nothing will.
