Ok.

DeVito is thrilled to play. Jones is beat down and probably knows how bad he is.

DeVito creates a lot of his own sacks. Not that Jones doesn't. They are both bad QBs. It doesn't really matter who sucks more. We need a better QB than either.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 27, 2023, 11:25:59 AMDeVito's body language is better than Jones' IMO. Jones always looks so rattled and bewildered. Often he looks legitimately miserable out there. DeVito just seems more even-keeled and confident, despite not having any obvious reason to be. And it's not like he hasn't faced the brutal conditions Jones has. He has gotten sacked a ton.

Bobby Okereke was a free agent. He's our best linebacker in years. He's a complete stud. Campbell was a stop gap. He was here until a rookie developed and as a hedge against Wan'Dale's recovery.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 27, 2023, 12:06:55 PMGood points. I agree that FA signings are usually overpays and frequently lead to disappointment relative to expectations. Obviously guys like Golladay and Solder are extreme examples of this, but you see it on the smaller scale too. Look at Parris Campbell for example. Some Giants fans talked themselves into a belief that he'd be a legitimately solid player for us.

Blaming Barkley is ludicrous. He's the best offensive player on the team.  DeVito constantly creates sacks on his own. But you will make any excuse for him you can. Just like the Jones crew will do with him.

People still think all sacks are on the OL. Ridiculous. DeVito has the pocket presence of a sloth. He created most of those sacks himself.

You misunderstand me. I don't care who starts the rest of this season. I just am annoyed by the love fest for this mediocre QB because he's Italian and from New Jersey. If we don't address the QB position with a high pick, we have no chance to compete for the next two seasons. The situation is very dire.

Quote from: Bob In PA on November 27, 2023, 11:27:39 AMD: I don't think our standards (or the team's) are low, we're just stuck with what we've got right now.

And so are Giants. The guy they thought could win games is unavailable, so why play an old guy with no upside?

In a wasted season, why get a solid backup QB injured and maybe end his career with this OL when it costs us nothing and, at worst, gets us a better draft position.  I don't think there is any consideration for Taylor, not because they (or we) don't like him, but maybe because they DO !!!

Value is usually better at guard than tackle. That's where I'd go. Then I'd look to draft another tackle at some point in the draft. Find a real OL coach who can get Neal coached up. I know there is a player in there. He's not the same guy as he was in college.

The Patriots would have won this game if they had just run the ball every single play and never passed. But of course not.

Chicken crap or dog crap. Which is better. That is what this choice is.

We scored 10 points against a terrible team and all the points were really set up by the defense. The offense was putrid. The standard here for QB play is incredibly low.

Quote from: Bob In PA on November 27, 2023, 10:20:07 AMConsidering how "sudden" his rise to the position of starting QB was, I think he has done a great job.

There is so much to learn, and you can't learn it by reading a book.

It takes time on the field and IMO he needs a lot more before we can see how good he can be.

Getting a real QB is not wasting capital. It is vital to do so to get your guy. Nothing matters more.

Quote from: GeauxJints on November 27, 2023, 09:46:48 AMDo we think Daniels can slide to the #6 spot? I know we still have games left but WASH right ahead of us, and I can see them moving on from Howell. Really don't want to have to trade up and waste capital.

Tired of watching mediocre QB play for this team. We won't compete until we get real QB play.

Quote from: MightyGiants on November 27, 2023, 08:15:20 AMThe man was rookie of the week last week and has the team on a two-game winning streak.  You might want to cut him some slack.

I don't get anyone that wants to fire Daboll.

Bo Nix has no elite traits. McCarthy would be a far better pick. Right now the Giants are 6th. They could go up 4 or 5 by the time the season is over. If they like Daniels, they should move up to secure him. Nix should be avoided. He's another Daniel Jones.

I sometimes wonder if we are watching the same sport.
